lol Im rockin the welded diff, no rear interior what so ever, solid mounts, long tube header and 3" catback and coils. oh and a 6-puck.

I guess my setup isnt for the feint of heart.

Nice, I'll probably go with something similar. Did they raise the motor at all? I'm looking to get a little more oil pan clearance. Can anyone recomend a quality namebrand set of solid mounts?

They actually ended up lowering the engine very slightly, but with the help of strategically placed washers I was able to raise the engine up so that the pan has a bit more breathing room.

oh and as far as "quality namebrand"... they're hunks of aluminum with the threads going all the way through the body and loctited in. Ebay. Cheap. So far, the goodness is epic. They actually have a phone number on each one... lemme grab it.

same here except the solid mounts. never really wanted/needed to use them. but the 3in turbo back exhaust kills babys.

That's cool, I'm interested in how they hold up for you. I'm sure they'll work, but I don't want to buy knockoff crap. I don't want to strategically place washers to raise my motor. I want a mount that has been designed to raise the motor, not lower it.

The mounts are designed to not change the height at all actually. check out the ebay page. I simply wanted to raise the motor because I wanted more oil pan to ground clearance. I even measured the solid mounts vs the stockers, and they were the same. I simply added washers because they were the same OD as the mounts and gave me the extra piece of mind.

how much of a difference do you feel with the new mounts, power to drivetrain wise? mine are pretty much shot and i just wanted solids so i dont have to replace them ever again.

Throttle response is a bit snappier, but nothing crazy. If you motor runs smoothly the vibration isnt even that much to deal with.

I would go as far as to say that never having to replace them is the only reason I really stand behind having solids, beside having a better feel for what your engine is doing. At least with the stock-ish setup im running.

solid motor mounts arent that bad. ive been running hockey puck mounts for awhile now and i love them. they vibrate a little more but not as bad as some make it sound. i needed to drop my motor 1 inch so i could fit my hood on my car with my xcessive intake manifold. also i read somewhere that its not good to use a solid trans mount so i just use a stocker. dunno if theres any truth to that but i cant tell any difference, nothing moves.

I like having solid motor mounts when i have a powerful motor...

my camaro had solid motor mounts and a eurethane trans mount... ive never been big on fully solid.... something has to flex and i dont want it to be the transmission casing...

right now i have stock mounts that my friend had "made" into eurethane mounts by packing them solid with eurethane mix... lol i painted em black. they vibrate a bit LESS than dead mounts and the motor doesnt jump around as much.... when the motor is cold and starts "camming" and loping at idle the whole body of my 240 moves tho... awesome

Im rocking those same mounts along with a welded and stance coils, i like the feel of them also the rear veiw doesnt really work with them though. But things feel alot smoother in the higher rpms

I dont think it's a matter if whether you can or can't. It's more whether they would want to. I personally would never want the added vibrations, but I'm really glad you guys are happy with them.

the way i see it is, new cars come with heated and cooled seats. running solid mounts in my 240 is like having vibrating seats. lol. seriosuly though, its not as bad as many people make it out to be. i think most the people who talk ish about them have never used them. ive taken 8 hour trips in my 240 and never had any discomfort from my solid mounts.

I like the way you look at things. Positivity is key. I rode in my friends hatch with JGY ones, and it was just too much for me. Its not even nesesarily the vibration either, Its the rattleing of loos panels and such in a twenty year old car.. haha.
