Alright, I checked out Positron_'s build, Idaho's, and read up on installing the CAS (S15 FSM) and I think I might have got it right but I was hoping someone on here with more experience could verify that I got it right. I did this with the crank starting at the second notch from the left.

I turned the crank over a few times and heard no mechanical noise or clanking so I guess thats a good sign. I did notice the chain will tense up and then have slack in it as I rotate it. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance guys. All I have left after this is coolant hoses and putting the rocker cover back on.

Intake side cam gear:

Exhaust side cam gear:

CAS gear (for some reason my marks seem reversed. On Positron_'s post, the first dot is up and the second dot is down):

and both intake and exahust gears together:

well they're 11 links apart and to my knowledge that's right. I just rebuilt my engine and the marked links go on the dots and are exactly 11 links apart. I say you're good.

Thanks Panther! So its probably safe to assume that someone changed the timing chain on this car before, considering they did not put the silver links over the dots?

I noticed that too and it made me suspicious.
