I finally got around to install my new Autometer Ultra-Lite mechanical boot gauge, since I was super curious what stock boost was for me.

I took it out for a sping and below 4500, at WOT, needle did not pass 6-7 PSI. Beyond 5000 to redline, I saw boost as high as 9 PSI.

I don't think that the S14 makes more power due to elevated wastegate pressure. VTC on the intake cam and a larger compressor produces the extra power.

9 PSI is normal, you're good to go.
