Isn't that exhaust just a regular HKS exhaust with carbon fiber wrapped around the canister?

Yeah, are you sure this is HKS? I mean, maybe it is, and maybe he just made me look at it too cynically, but does it have the HKS logo?

To each his own, but I can't see why you'd wrap CF around a metal canister.

Hope you bought the silencer.

You get just the muffler or the whole catback?

Hks said that the hi power n carbon ti models would not have the hks logos at the tip..I didn't ask why. I've held the hi power model and this 1 and the weight difference is pretty noticeable.....And ill post some pics after I mount it. And ill also try to put some kind of audio in a new post...(if some1 can show me how to do it) ill also post the pix of the box and the pix of the label on the box wen I get home from school today.thanks for all the comments

I got it for $ 427 something..then they told me that any hp model pix in the web (www.hksusa.com or any) would not have the logo on the tip or anywhere in the product...I still need the measurements for the catback lengths.any1?

Hooo, boy.

I'm gonna try to make this painless as possible, don't take it the wrong way.

$470 for a muffler is insane. Especially a UNIVERSAL muffler (it's not even made for your car).

That kind of money would buy you a real, mandrel-bent, resonated, dyno-tested, performance catback, in full stainless steel.

A muffler alone WILL NOT (let me repeat) WILL NOT increase performance enough for you to notice.

Weight is irrelevant. That thing can't be more than a 10 lb savings over a stock muffler, and you'd probably save that much weight taking a good healthy dump and vacuuming your car.

A muffler alone (especially a big fartcan muffler) on a stock exhaust is going to sound awful.

For crying out loud, I hope you kept your receipt.

And you can tell whoever sold you that muffler that I said "SCREW YOU". I HATE to see newbies getting the shaft.

Do you have any idea how it will sound when it's done?

You realize you'll have to use a silencer (which will cut your inside diameter down to 2" or less) just to make the noise tolerable?

Call me crazy, but I'd rather spend $427 on a complete system that's PROVEN to work well (from any manufacturer), not some overpriced "blang-blang" universal muffler with a piece of CF wrapped around it.

Seriously man, you got robbed. Big time.

They are only fartcans if theyre on a stock exhaust thats not free flowing. I have a universal stainless 40 dollar ebay muffler on a custom mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust and free flow cat, and it sounds GREAT... Fairly silent at low RPMs, but the second the thing reaches 4k, it SCREAMS. Without the custom 2.5+ piping, its gonna sound like somebody with slurpy-poo trying to squeeze it all out.

didnt know greg was in the army?

But anyway, yeah man, for that much money, you could get a better one from BRM. And yeah, I do beleive BRM makes a better product for the money than HKS, APEXi, and the others. There quite a few people here who have the BRM system.

But it all comes down to what you want. Even if you are getting reamed what ever floats your boat man..
