So i've been without my 95 240 for almost a month as it sits in the garage, I've finished a bunch of work on it, and all im waiting on is the local junkyard to fetch me a BMC/booster combo (yes, i've actually fit the 300zx booster in there..somehow) but the first set they sent me ended up being bad, and the one they just got recently was leaking to the point where they just ordered another without even giving me it.

my point is, I'm starting to feel like im 15 again and without a car, and bumming rides is hard when your friends act like bums. So in all honesty, will it be practical to run the new front brake swap on the stock mc/booster until some decent parts come in, or am I putting myself at risk?

thanks in advance for the input guys

Are you asking if its cool to run 300zx front calipers on a stock 240 BMC?

I'm sure it'd work fine.

ya man i've been running my brakes this way for a couple of months now.
i couldn't really feel that big of a difference at all in the pedal and the front brakes can now lock up on command.
the pedal feels fine, if not better imo.
its a really big step up in stopping power haha.
i think if you did all 4 brakes with the stock 240sx mc, then you might want to consider getting a diff mc.

brake booster might be dead, if i start the car while pressing the pedal, it doesnt soften at all. (i didnt think i played with it much??), and doing 10 pistons of madness without it might be damn near impossible, but i dont see why that would make my brakes lock up while im stopped and force me to break free of them. Dont think I hear any leaks and im pretty sure the vacuum should be good.

EDIT - shortly after writing this, i remembered the check valve, and thought maybe i installed it wrong, in fact i did, and there was my brake problem. Now my other issue is this lock up on takeoff, it feels really bad, but i dont know where to start checking. To keep it simple, if i move the car forward, i hear/feel an awkward crunch noise as the car starts moving forward, but once i've taken off, it's gone.

EDIT 2 - Okay, so my passenger rear brake caliper seems to be locking up on me, I've already reset it a few hours ago,but it seems like it locked itself again.

yep, problem was the hotshot header hitting the undercarriage, just felt like a braking issue from inside.

Yeah, alot of the headers out there have a bung that has to be plugged right next to the steering knuckle and can tap it when the exhaust shakes a little.

pics for reference since i still havent gotten it fixed, it doesnt hit steering (lucky me) but does right before the test pipe/cat, i blame my almost dead motor mounts

(lots more clearance from the knuckle than it looks like, just a bad angle)
