i just got off the phone with Vic @ topsonline and he said his prices will be going up in a month from 329.00 for the whole top to 389.00 so if you need to buy one you better buy it now. i also talked him into hooking up nico members with some discount, he said because of his restructuring of his new site and prices the best he can do now is free shipping to all Nico members . further down the line when he gets situated he will offer a discount on the tops your all welcome make sure you tell him your from Nico and Jesse (thats me) already talked to him about it edit: and yes i just realised i spelled "hooked" wrong

The rear window is vinyl so it'll fold.

This is good news since I am planning on replacing my top (atleast the rear window) at some point, but not in a huge rush.

ya i know it folds....but i was asking if there's a way to convert it to glass....a way to make it to where it doesn't have to fold. i'm not expecting there to be a way...but who knows..... my vinyl one is new so im not looking to replace it now but it does get creases in it when i have the top down for say a day. when i put it back up there are creases in it that dont go away right away... im just being picky i suppose but i want the best for my baby, haha thanks guys

They have tinted windows for my jeep, so I'm trying to find a company who has this same tinted plastic. I know it would look nice, so thats the plan. Anyone with any info would be great. thanx, Jay

Yes it can be tinted. One company makes the material that becomes all of the vinyl windows that are sold. Check with any upholstery shop and they can show you the samples.Rear windows come in:1. clear2. smoke (barely tinted, don't bother)3. charcoal (nice black tint)4. green

Charcoal looks amazing. You can get these anywhere, all you need to do is ask for what you want.

Here is some advice for you guys. Those tops at the website you are referencing are made by EZ-on. I'm not telling you what to do, but I stay away from those tops at all costs. The fitment is not perfect and the quality is not up to my standards. Talk to an upholstery shop if don't trust me. Many shops do not like to install tops made by that company. If you don't want to screw around then buy a top from Electron. http://www.electron-top.com/This company makes some of the finest tops on the market. The quality is top notch and the top made my vert extremely silent when driving. Full warranty, no water leakage. If you want to see pictures of this thing, I can post pics of my vert. Not all tops are alike...

Would you buy just the rear curtain window through them? Thats all I need, and for $140 seems like a decent deal (I'll pay the extra for the tinted)

do you guys install your own tops. i need one as well, and im thinking about installing it myself. my dad wants to have it done at a shop though, which will cost almost $700 for top and installation i believe. Ive done motor swaps suspension and all kinds of other car stuff before. or is there a how to for installing it?

well just my 2 cents here but i have had my top from them for about 6 months now and have had no leakage and the top still looks brand new. fit like a glove too and the majority of the shops here get their tops from Topsonline but just charge a way higher price.

jamesblonde82,I've been thinking the same thing. One thing that I really don't like about my car is vinyl rear window. Old Celica, FC and some verts that came out early/mid 90's have glass rear windows, and I wish 240 had it too. Anyway, considering size of top well behind the rear seat, I don't think we can have full size glass window. But how about this? I saw this on 69 mustang. It had folding glass window. Owner said it's an original. 2 pieces of glass were connected with clear plastic and It looked really good. How about small rear window just like on Eclipse. If we have rear window small enough to fit in top well, that might work too, but I don't think anyone will develop and sell something like that. Besides, small rear window won't look good on 240 vert. S2000 first came out with vinyl rear window, but soon Honda replaced it with a glass. Top looked ugly when it had vinyl window, but it looks very clean now.... I know 2 local top guys who have over 20+ years of experience and I'll ask them about it when I get a chance.

FC RX7 verts have a nicely sized rear window with a defroster (I like defrosters) that I'm thinking of putting on my car but I'm planning on getting rid of the stock soft top and doing something more along the lines of a bikini cover.
