I have had more problems with my rebuild then i thought where posable. and am curently in my 5th month of down time. know finaly putting my engine back in and i come to find out i didnt get my dampner pulley from the machine shop. so i go there today to see if they can find it, and they look around and cant find anything, so i am pretty much out of a pulley now to, guess i might as well get an underdrive pulley, but i mean really when is it going to stop. I just have some really bad luck, tell you what. oh and so fare i am 1k over buget for the rebuild, because of things like this.

its not a swap, i am rebuilding my KA24e. let me list the problems

got my engine pulled, no problems thereget my engine to machine shop, they order cromolly rods, and JE pistons, they got the wroung pistons, so they had to send it back. another 1+ month gose buy and they finaly get my pistons, but they find out my deak is not the corect hight, so they have to cut down my pistons a little. then i come to find my oil pan is dented beond use, they say they didnt do it, so i have to get a new/used oilpan. after that i send my injectors off to get cleared, 3 of the 4 are bad so i have to replace them. now my pulley as gone missing. its just geting old. really wish i would have swaped to a sr about 3 months ago. there is alot of other stuff to, but thats the bigger things.

Well its really my daily driver, plus some AutoX/Drift car. plus i just looked at there site and they dont have a oilpan for the KA engine so it would most likely have to be custom and i have ran out of money.

hmmm, well i cant remember who made the oil pan for the car, but im sure someone does, might be greddy. if youre a fast auto crosser you mgiht atleast want to put a windage tray in the oil pan to keep the oil from sloshing around too much

Hey jrc90240sx, trust me. I DO know where you are coming from. My car was down for 4 months. Took it out, no problem. Ordered the pistons. A week later they needed me to CC my cylinder head. Ok. Then a week later the say i need to fill out a JE custom piston order form. Measurements only a machine shop could do. Two weeks at the machine shop i FINALLY get the measurements back and send them in. A week later i get a email reply back 'are these the pistons you would like to order?'. I reply 'yes, please.' Another week later another email 'well we need to you place an order for them.' Keep in mind i paid for the entire rebuild kit AND pistons by CASH in ADVANCE. So a few more days of going back and forth with them. Then the pistons take a week longer than the 4 weeks to make, plus a week to ship. I get them all back in, send them to my machine shop who is going to bore each cylinder to each specific piston. He promises me it will be done before the end of the year (3 weeks away!). Jan 3 i go in, still hasnt touched it!. Two more weeks go by i FINALLY get it all back and start putting it back together. HORRAY FOR ME! Get the engine back in the car, and now it wont start. Why? Because i put my distributor in wrong and completely destroyed the crank angle sensor. Luckily i found one from a NICO member who shipped it to me once he got his SR front clip. Needless to say, I really understand. Just be patient. Once its all back togther, you will appreciate it all the more. Hang in there! Plus it gives you an excuse to do more mods to it! I wish i had done the pulley and balanced injectors! But my money was super tight then. Good luck with it all!

getting a little off topic here i guess., but this just crossed my mind as i read this thread... is spending $100 on a pulley that reduces crank by 15% worth it.. i mean if you car is mostly stock....(i realise that yes... every piece builds up when put together with others).. but just alone.. is it even noticeble? maybe someone can tell from experience...

Yeah i am completly out of money, have to wait for my next pay check to get the rest of the stuff i need to finish it (vac hose, injectors seals, crank pully, and some other misc stuff) i dont even have money to put gas in it, even if it was finished.

Jusepi97sx - I am not sure what its going to do for me, as i will be going from a worn 130mil engine, to a new engine with new JWT CAM, CR up from 8.6 to 9, fully ported head, ported matched intake and exhaust, and some other good stuff. but last winter i took the clutch fan off and could feel that (felt it more then my exhaust), so i would think it would give about the same or even better then the Fan removal/upgrade to electric.
