Well...2 days ago I swapped back to my old fuel pump but the ground to the fuel leveler was messed up so I connected it to the ground of the pump itself. I'm not sure if it has to do with anything but after I was done with that, the car doesn't start. It turns over, but it doesn't want to start. I have gas in the tank (Little of it but enough) and everything seems fine. The pump turns on as I can hear but I'm not sure what's wrong...Should I swap it out for my 300z pump again (Loud *** mother fuc5eR)? Did the wiring from the leveler have anything to do with it? Seems like the motor is getting fuel, just not starting up. I'm not sure why...I hope someone can help..Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

-ThankS...

I hate to say this but don't touch anything else! You quite obviously don't have a clue what you are doing. Take it to a mechanic before you screw up something else, or blow up your car and yourself by connecting the next wire up wrong!

Having said that... you need spark, compression, and fuel for the engine to run. How do you know it's getting fuel? You say it's low, but there should be enough. Why not add some to make sure? Yeah, I know you can't drive it to the gas station, so get a can. Many a person has tried to debug a won't start condition only to find out there wasn't enough gas after a couple of hours... yes I've done it.

If adding gas doens't do it, check that you have spark. I'm new to SR's so I'm not sure how to do this with the direct fire coils, perhaps someone else can comment.

Compression... well unless your motor is totally screwed, which I'd guess it isn't because it was running a couple of days ago, right? I'd gues that compression isn't your problem.

Add more fuel, I'll bet that get's it going.

[/quote]Smart guy here. I KNOW what I'm doing. I swapped it myself so I know where everything goes, and I know what everything does. As for the pump, that was my bad. I knew what I did wrong, and now it's corrected.

I believe it may be the coil packs sinc e a couple days ago it started bogging so I don't think it was getting all the spark it should be getting. I know fuel is going in because the there's fuel in the tank (yes..1/2 way), it's pumping..and its coming out of the fuel filter into the rail...so I'm sure fuel is going in..Its just not creating spark...The starter chip seems to be fine...the MAF sensor is okay.....so my last resort here is to probably borrow coils from Cartune since I can just walk there...We'll see what happens..

I appreciate the help, BUT I I do know what I'm doing...

Hey I didn't mean to be a smart guy, or a smart a$$, I just didn't want you blowing anything up! I really don't see how it would be the coils, after all there's four of them, and why would all four fail at once? If one was gone it would still start on three cylinders. I'd suspect the igniter chip failing before four coils. It should be simple to check for spark. My GUESS would be to pull one of the coils, stick a plug in it and ground the plug and crank it over. You should see spark. My concern would be that the coil might need to be grounded too (does the hold down bolt groung the coil or not?).-Martin.

I'm not sure if the coil bolt/screw is grounded. Seems like it is..but the screw doesn't seem like it's steel/metal. It's kinda plastic-y....The starter chip shouldn't be the problem. When it cranks, it sounds totally perfect, except for the fact that it's not firing. I took the coils to Cartune and they're gonna check them out. Ill find out today if its the coil or not.

I'm not sure what you are referring to as the "starter chip". I was suggesting that the igniter chip is bad. The igniter has chip has nothing to do with cranking, makes no noise, just (as far as I can tell) energizes the right coil based on the signal from the CAS. If the igniter is blown, you'll get no spark at any of the plugs regardless of weather your coils checlk out OK.

Coils came back fine. It's probably the "igniter/starter chip" as you suggested. I'm gonna run a test to even see if it's getting power or not...I hope it is...well...I don't hope, but if it is it, then I figured out the problem correct?

Wish me lots of luck~!
