at krown for $130. they did a great job. drilled holes all over the place and filled everything with oil, and plugged it all up after, also did the wheel wells and underside, looked so shiny and black and brand new...i feel like its NEW! even the doors feel heavier...maybe its just in my head. They told me afterwards id see white smoke from my exhaust for a bit...did some sort of rustproofing to that i guess? took her on the highway and GUNNED it cleared all that sh*t outta there people musta thought i had a P.O.S LOL but its all gone now. Then i took it on a construction site and did donuts in the dirt...i asked the person at krown if thats true that it helps, she said it wouldnt hurt so hell yeah im gunna do it! I even got parking pass for brampton to park on the street for a week so i dont F*** up my driveway from the dripping....if it doesnt drip it doesnt work!

anyways, can i wash it today? like id leave the wheel wells and underside alone (usually i wash that) but is it safe to wash the body? also should i ever wash the underside again or should i wait till the salt comes and THEN give it a spray with water...Also every year or two years..is it necessary to do this yearly?

The q is looking better than ever, just need a system, some rims, and fix up some paint spots and ill be all set. Rustproofing is probably my best bet to keeping it looking new for years to come in our harsh winters

LOL in Canada we get alot of snow and ice in the winter, so we have these big things called salt trucks that spray salt and even sand now on the roads to melt the ice. This creates oxidization everywhere in a car and RUST occurs.....its this ugly brown disease that eats away at your car......cars here have a life expectancy of about 10 years without rustproofing. why cant people just buy 4x4s and ban salt trucks, and just drive a little slower? so our cars can stay new?

probly cuz 60% of canadians are minivan driving noobs that pump out kids to take around to local places so that they can scream and yell and annoy the heck out of guys like me. Some people have no passion for anything, a minivan? i can have 10 kids.......id still get a suburban or something. minivans annoy me. and so do toyota corollas (worst drivers in canada)

thats my rant for the day. verdict, i love kids, just not other peoples misbehaving kids. I love cars and hate minivans cuz every other car is a dodge caravan or a for windstar...its crazy what people blow their money on. And toyota corrollas.....i cant defend it. everytime i see one on the road i keep my distance and the drivers always do something really stupid.

LOL

i understand the rustproofing idea because of the salt, but i would think the more holes in vehicle the worst it would be. and the filling everything with oil baffles me. btw it's not just canada w/ the moms and minivans.

the holes are sealed with rubber caps, and the reason why oil is good is because rust usually starts from the inside, where the surface is not painted and moisture builds...oil guards the surface from moisture and water which cause rust

Glad you finally did it! You can wash the body immediately after. I wouldn't hose the wheel wells for a few weeks, and I wouldn't touch the under carriage until spring.

In respect to the drill holes, thats the only way to get the rust-proofing oil inside the doors and the quarter panels. The bottoms of the doors on any car are the first place rust starts since they hold moisture and there are two pieces of metal welded together. Spraying in there keeps the door saturated with the special formula which repels water and stops rust from forming.

I get mine done every two years generally (although I'm going 2.5 this time because the car spent last winter in California). If you are putting on over 20,000KM per year I'd get it done yearly, or if your car is already showing signs of rust.

Wow what a pain in the ***. So the oil just coats the surface of the inside then right? Pretty crazy what you guys have to go through just to maintain your rides. That old saying, "an ounce of prevention..." really has foundation. I've taken some preventative measures like repacking the grease on the radiator fan bearings that in the long run can save thousands. Nice work dude!

I should consider gettin rust proofing done to since I live in New Hampshire. I hope I don't have to explain where that is, cause it seems like ppl think its in England...

And for bad drivers here, just the New York drivers and ppl who drive volvos, every single volvo.

Just to show those that don't have snow: a little salt on my truck from last winter. You can hear the rust forming day by day.I've been oil spraying my vehicles for 20 years, and I can say without hesitation that it works. Yea, it drips a little at first, but that's a small price to pay.I plan on going this week to have it done again.

do it its well worth it. That rust doesnt just happen underneath it usually happens between body panels and door seams, places you can never really get free of all the salt with just a wash.
