I just got back from a little drive. I took some road so I could turn around and it was so narrow from all the snow so I just kept going looking for the right spot to turn around and never found it before I reached a hard left corner. I wasn't going fast at all but the road was poorly plowed (actually, they were doing it right then but weren't finished) and despite slowing down before the corner I just slid and couldn't do anything. Softly hit the snow bank and I was stuck there for around half an hour.

First tried to get out myself but to no avail. My all seasons won't grip anything. Tried to be Hercules and push her out from neutral and that clearly didn't work. Some dude with a snowblower was just staring at me for a while and that kinda pissed me off a little. But then some other guy around my age shovelling his driveway came and helped me out, and we used his shovels to clear the tires and I moved back a bit at first. Then shovelled some more and throttled it out of there forwards. Feels pretty damn good to get free like that after being stuck for a while. Props to the guy who helped me.

Anyway, it was just a soft snow bank and I hit it gently so my car is fine. All I have to show for is this snow in my lip.

It was the first time I ever got stuck in my 240 btw.

you couldn't just lock it in 4 wheel drive and pull out of it? lol just kidding about your car having the lift kit on it i mean not being lowered...

I wish it would snow here!!!!

lol I will lower it eventually (or I'll just wait until my next 240, and get another car for the winter btw) but hell, thankfully it was stock or I'd probably still be there. Little did I know until I shovelled out the front, my front right tire was just on the edge of the curb. If it had been lowered I could have destroyed my bumper and ruined my Christmas holidays.

I was kind of surprised I got out the way I did. There was still a lot of snow between the rear and front tires on the right side, but I guess cause I got grip right in front of the rear I was able to plow right through it. I was definitely thinking reverse would be the way to get me out if anything, but sometimes there are surprises.

Other than that, I've had a lot of fun in the snow so far. I wasn't messing around when this happened and I don't really do it in the daytime, only really at night when no one is around and I'm still careful with it.

Today I got stuck too in the morning. I've got some winter tires on the rear, stll got stuck in the snow. Tried my parents Neon, that too got stuck in snow. Had to get picked up by my manager, which also got stuck for a while. BTW he drives a newer F350 :P.

6inches of snow on the ground yesterday. 240 took it no problem the whole time at a 20* angle

Yeah, I was thinking of having something like that in there just in case. Maybe also some mats or something to put under the tires to give me grip too. I really had nothing on me to help out when it happened and was just using my feet to kick some snow away until I got some help.

And I gotta be thankful it was just a snowbank. If it was a guardrail oh man... I don't even wanna think of that. Like I said I wasn't going that fast at all but I do acknowledge it could have been avoided if I was more careful. Gotta be real careful around those hard snowy/icy corners.

The guy who helped me said I wasn't the first one to get stuck there lol. Horrible corner.

Over here it's snowed three times over the past five or six days (heavy snowfall too). All in all it's been around two or three feet. Of course the roads get cleared though, for the most part.

I had to go pick up a friend in a country area a week ago and it was really snowy there and I had no problems. I was sliding around nearly every corner but it was definitely controllable and also fun.

i hate it when that happens. i was on my way to work the other day and my back end kicked out in a slick part of a main road through a long left turn (my area's plow trucks are truly terrible. after they go through my neighborhood the only thing they do is crush the snow down into hard ice withthe heavy trucks. they make no difference at all). i caught it but too late and ended up getting my front end stuck in someones yard in a 2 foot deep snow bank and it was -4 outside and -28 with windchill.

in my work clothes, i try digging myself out but to no avail. i then sit next to my car for 10 mins in the cold with it jetting out halfway into the road and my hazzards on waiting for someone to stop. a good amount of people drive by but no one stops, what truly pisses me off is the ***holes who actually have the nerve to slow down and look to see if your cars on fire or shredded to hell n about to blow up or anything but once they see it isnt they speed off.

finally after 15 minutes a guy in a ford explorer stops with his family an the people whos yard i drove into all come out n help dig me out n i was half an hour late to work.

Hey, you guys down in NM and the south aren't forced to deal with snow like some of us.

But yeah... it's a dangerous combination, but also damn fun.

We got all kinds a snow....

I haven't been stuck yet...

but I'd take rwd over fwd any day, once you start sliding in fwd its understeer into the closest snow bank, I just throttle my way out of everything.

I love the looks I get pulling into work completely sideways from my managers...priceless
