Just got my Z great car but I have a few problems.

It's got 166k miles on it, it needs new muffler because the one on now sounds SOOOO LOUD. The exhaust might have a leak or somthing. Pics coming soon BTW Very soon.

Also the Power steering and Z/C Belt neeed to be put on, I don't have any knowledge on how to do that.

The last and biggest problem is that there is smoke coming out of the exhaust sometimes. It smells like gas too, I was just revving it and revved it to about 5000 RPMS and I started seeing white smoke. It smelt like oil which means there is an oil leak. It's slow but at high RPMS it's not. THe guy I bought it from told me that I would need silicon to fix the leak. Don't know where the leak is at though.

Any suggestions would be great, I will also show pictures of the problems tomorow when there is sunlight.

Edit: the oil leak didn't come from the exhaust, came from the hood/wheel wells.

Otherwise this is a great car, just about all the electronics work except for the sterio but other than that it's windows work fine.

sounds like you need to get it to a reputable shop and have it looked at by a qualified trustworthy source, the loud exhaust could be any one of a number of problems, the smoke, well, smell like gas implies rich which would normally accompany black smok, bluish smoke indicated oil burning which would be an internal engine problem not fixable with silicone and quite expensive to fix, white smoke generally means coolant buring which means blown headgasket which means open your wallet, as for an oil leak under the car could be any number of sources, most common is the cam covers, still a huge PITA to fix, only takes silicone and 4 hours to tear the engine down far enough to get to them!

I think the exhaust is old and has a leak, maybe why i'm smelling gas? It's not burning oil either, it's just leaking it from where you mentioned. I also noticed oil on some hoses and stuff. The smoke seems to be white by the way. I'm pretty sure it's not burning oil, just that leaking oil causes you to smell oil down the street.

Problem is there is gas leaking or somthing when I idle. I smell a strong scent of gas, now if I'm moving I don't smell it(dosen't mean it's not doing it though) Also when I shift the car into different gears it sounds like it wants to turn off and the RPMS drop pretty low then go right back up. I'll take a vid so you'll know what I mean better.

Yeah man, the color is really nice. I love it, next best color next to black for the Z.

My crank pulley just started messing up now, it's sitting side ways and I don't know what to do >.< any advice?
