I finally got my turbo in the mail. It is a Turbonetics t3/t04e 57 trim .63 a/r externally gated. Very nice looking. I picked it up used but freshly rebuilt by Turbonetics, it looks really sweet and 0 miles since the rebuild.

A few questions: On the turbonetics turbos there is a place for a fitting to go on the compressor side right where the compressed air exits the turbo. I assume this is for a vacuum line fitting to go to the wastegate as a source of boost pressure. Does anyone know where I can get the fitting that fits in this hole? I will call Turbonetics and find out if no one knows.

Also the compressor section and turbine section rotate seperate from each other. Like you can rotate the turbine side of the turbo. I assume this is to get it placed correctly in the car, but do you need to do anything to lock it down so it doesn't turn once installed or do the piping and manifold hold everything in place.

Here are a couple pics:

to lock each section down, you tighten the bolts that hold the housings in place. In the lower picture, the bolts on the back of the compressor section with the brass-colored piece linking each pair of bolts is what you will tighten down. The turbine should have something similar. It should hold fine, but if you are worried about them backing out, you can get a part from a turbo supplier that is similar in shape to the brass-colored piece, but made of thin metal. It has tabs that you bend up against a flat side of the bolt to keep it from backing out.

BTW he's a great guy to work with. Even after I got the turbo he is still helping me out and answering any questions I have. What a guy! :)
