I just picked up my new M45 Sport, black on graphite with aluminum, Tech, Journey and Aero.

I ordered it back in late November and boy was the wait hard - but worth it!

The car is great! I still have a ton to learn about how to use all the bells and whistles but everything I've seen so far is great.

Like so many others, I'm coming over from a german brand - for me a 98 MB CL 600. After looking at the BMW 750, old and new MB S, CL, CLS, Lexus GS and a few other usual suspects I was sold on the M.

One of the keys for me is that I'm 6'8" tall and I fit!

Welcome aboard!

Good to have yet another "defector" from German marques recognizing what a great car the M really is...

Pics of the new ride yet?

Very nice!

And, yes, pictures and driving experience notes would be great.

Awesome car! I just picked a damn near identical M45 exactly two weeks ago. Black, graphite, aluminum, technology, aero, and MES pkgs, (Journey's required for the technology pkg, hence why I usually don't list it). I just passed 500 miles this afternoon, and finally got my bluetooth up and running.

As I had mentioned in my first post, the car has exceeded my expectations which were very high to begin with. I think it's likely the nicest car I've owned, possibly tied by my last car, an 03 CLK55 AMG that was pretty much loaded (But which was also $20k more). Note that as far as electronics are concerned, especiallywith the navigation system, the M45 is definitely the better cars. Better suited for my needs as well!

The one and only bummer is that I was using the homelink transmitter in my CLK55 for so long, I can't find my garage remote anymore! I guess I'll be ordering a new one...

Congrats about the car, and best of luck!

Best regards, Matt

p.s.) One very thing that I've already discovered and am very happy about is that there are remarkably few M cars driving around, or at least where I am anyway!

Matt,

You obviously have great taste! If you ever make it down to Richmond stop by and we can introduce the twins!

The only option I chose not to get was the entertainment system. My wife's QX 56 is our family car so we put the DVD system in that one. Mostly my kiddos will only be in this when I drop them off at school in the morning.

I just got back from a trip up to DC in it and I was impressed how well it handled. Nice quiet highway ride. My bluetooth worked fine (Blackberry) and folks said I just sounded like I was on a speaker phone but not as bad as I've heard some folks state. I've also seen lots of conversation about ride quality on the sport model, and while you do feel the bumps - especially on DC's pot hole riddled streets - it was as I would expect for a sportier model.

I can't wait to get it out on some twisties in the countryside around Richmond this weekend!

Great minds definately think alike!!

Not sure about where you guys live, but believe it or not a black M in Houston is kind of rare. A black one with aero is really rare. Woohoo!

Oh, ive seen a few, (one really weird night there were 3 in Circuit city parking lot) but mostly here I see DG and LP.

Sounds like there are a few "twins" out there. In Canada, the 45 Sport comes with MES (and all the other goodies) so there are no factory options other than Aero and tint, which my dealer installed. And here Sat is not an option, but the car is pre-wired so I bought the OEM Sirius kit myself.

This car is great! I've got over 4000 km (2500 miles) on it since I picked it up late January, and it keeps impressing me more. Just seems to lack some passing acceleration "kick" compared to my earlier E55 and E500, but at least everything works like it should!

Wow.

That thing is simply breathtaking (as in, I *gasp* when I see it) in black.

Wow... Just wow.

Thanks for the picks. I have the same car but in the Liquid Platinum. The aero pkg sure makes a sweet car a hot car.

And we're glad to have a former German car owner into the fold. My 20 yr BMW dad was very impressed with the M. He's trying now to talk my brother into an M vs. his planned BMW 3 purchase he's about to do.

Enjoy!
