Was going to get an 09 37 sedan but I'm just not sold on the Scratch Shield Paint and I just couldn't spend that much more on a 2010. Soooooooooooo I came home with an 08 G35 Sedan Journey.23,455 miles/Blue Slate/Nav and Pre Package. Splash guards and Illuminated Kick Plates to be installed as part of the deal. Doesn't look like any of the seats other then driver had been used. Steering wheel had some scratches under the controls and the drivers seat had a tear on the side. Both will be replaced. $29,900. I'm happy enough. So now what am I to expect.

WELCOME!!!

I'm surprised the seat would tear, I have a dog in my 04 G all the time, and after over two years only one minor rip from a claw, and a few scratches...

Congrats on the G, I think it's smart to buy used... you get the new body style, engine, and it just a sexy all around car.

I don't think you can go wrong with either...and in the light of saving a little coin I think your decision was a good one.

I think you're going to love this car. Been super reliable for me and I love the performance. We'd love to help you spend additional money on some mods...i think the first thing should be a twin turbo kit.

My mod days are over. At 57 I just want to drive it and enjoy. Of course some 235/50/17's when it's time might be considered a very small mod from the odd 55's that Nissan uses.

I've been running Castrol Syntec in My Altima since I got it. Is that as good as anything to run in the G?

Have to upload the pictures to a third party site like phtobucket.com. Than just pink the picture to the thread.

Hope this helps.

i know you said you didn't want the scratch shield paint, but the 09s are selling really cheap now. people are paying around 31.5k for a new G sedan with prem and nav. and then add on the obama new car sales tax deduction, and possibly the $500 AMEX referral program, and you're looking at essentially the same price you paid. if you plan on selling the car later, there's also the depreciation hit and 2nd owner status that you'll contend with.

on the plus side, the dealership is giving you some add ons and are replacing the seats. and the best part is there is no break in period, so you can rev away as much as you want.

Yeah, I paid $32K for my 09 w/prem and nav, probably closer to $31K when I take the tax deduction. It was priced too close to a used one for me to even consider going secondhand.

Now, I only started hearing about this scratch shield paint after I came on this forum. Obviously, I'm stuck with it... but why wouldn't I want it, and what is everyone so apprehensive about?

It's only a preference. You'll enjoy yours as much as I'll enjoy mine. I have a detail and 3M bra coming up in the next week.
