I just purchased a 1985 Nissan 300zx. After three days of working on it, I replaced the hosing on the fuel pump and the Mass Airflow sensor and it's running great. However it looks like the stereo was stolen at some point and when i turn it on the "Security" light in my dash keeps flashing, is there any way I can fix this, or bypass it to make it stop flashing?

Also just a random concept, I'm enchanted with the fact that it talks to me, and was wondering if there would theoretically be a way to program it to say other things, under different circumstances?

Can you be a little more specific? When exactly does the light start flashing, when the keys in on accessory? When the keys out but the cars not locked, when the doors open..

When the door is shut and the car is on the security light should turn off.

Sorry, The security light comes on when I put the key in the on position, and while the car is on, even while I'm driving.

Any clue which fuse is the security Fuse? the car isn't stored at my house and I'm about to go over to it to mess with it some more.

and no "b****in betty" can't be reprogrammed, there used to be car alarms that you could program your own warning back in the day, in theory one of them or any recording could be wired into any trigger

I just got off the phone with DMV. It appears that the previous owner paid the backfees but never got it smogged, so I'm expecting difficulties smogging.

I was wondering if anyone might know some nice tricks to pass smog? Solutions to include in the fuel, etc, etc.
