Change all the fluids on this 7 1/2- 8 years year old vehicle.

Diff, ATF flush, PS, Coolant flush, Brake flush. Check for dirt, leaves, paper, and hair between condenser and radiator.

Depending upon how long you want the vehicle to function as new and when you want your first big major repair since totally out of warranty [agewise]. Things don't usually fail until 120,000 miles or 8 years

I'll bet the shocks are weak and rubber components are not as new.

We have 99Q customers with 200k+ [interstate salesmen].

Learn about Silicone and Wurth rubber spray conditioners..........all multi hundred rubber components [seals, weather strip gaskets, suspension bushings] should be treated every 90 days if you want them to last another 8 years. Leather treatments for seats and doors, etc.

Make sure they changed fuel filter at 60k.

And all air filters, engine and cabin.

I would do the plugs also, and coolant.

ATF and PS fluid mechanical replacement with pan drop and new filter, gasket and bolts for the transmission.

I have lots of opinions about gas and prices, given that I pumped gas for about 2 years (Yes, I'm that old).

That said, these are tuned V8 engines that expect higher octane fuel and even at times expect more than the 92-ish really have. To me it's just not worth it to run 10 cent cheaper gas. If fuel costs/mpg's are a concern, then a V8 is not the best daily driver car.

I agree with Rex, if you have a V8 and are complaining about the cost of gas, maybe you shouldn't have bought one to begin with, lol. That brings me to this guy whom my buddy and I ran into at a high end car dealer. To make a long story short, this guy just got approved for a loan for a 2002 Bentley Arnage then asked the dealer "How many miles to the gallon did you say it gets?" Out of no where this guy and his buddies start laughing hysterically. The guys starts turning red and responds "What are you talking about I have money I just got approved for this beautiful car." So one of the guys walks over to him and says "All I'm saying is if you can't afford the gas, you can't afford the car." The funny thing about the whole story the guy that applied for the loan didn't know he was just talking to Daniel Snyder the owner of the Redskins

The gauge cluster and gas door should both be marked for Premium Fuel Only ... given the CR and tune of these motors, anythign less can give you nightmares ... assuming your knock sensors are functioning correctly.

Sorry if it sounded like I was giving you attitude, but like I said, I pumped gas and have issues .

Amazing that after all the publicity [Consumer reports , newspapers and magazines,TV radio, carrier pidgeon] that people believe the EPA stickers are anywhere close.

"The EPA acknowledges that its mileage ratings system needs an overhaul. "We recognize that the test that is done today is not accurate, and we want to do a better job to fix it," said Margo Oge, head of transportation and air quality at the EPA.

Oge says one reason to change the test is to improve on the statistic that only 50 percent of drivers get the mileage the EPA posts".

Geeez....at least read the freaking Owner's Manual.

And please, only ppost the question once and only after you have searched and not found the answer. Enough clutter already, thank you.

Are you listening to the valuable feedback that you've received about treating new people poorly?! Why do you keep insulting new members?

Brain's a good guy, but he obviously gets frustrated at people asking quick questions instead of searching for days for an answer!!! Personally I'm with ya'll if I can get a quick response what's the big deal.

Ok, it's real simple.

If one is too stupid or lazy to read the manual, why does one own something he doesn't care to learn how to understand? Does the obligation to educate those who are studiously and intentionally ignorant then fall to others?

Owner's should know how to be operators.

In the old days (about 3 years ago) when every post was relevant and only included new issues and information, members would read the manuals and TSB first, then search, then think, and then ask a well crafted question. Searches then were much more informative for the lack of flotsam.

How many times is it worth answering the question, "Why is my wheel round?"

Earlier member's were just more uniformly considerate and appreciative of other member's time and contributions. Most new members (thankfully) still are.

Well clearly you're either too stupid or lazy to go to the dealer and buy one. Why don't you care to learn how to understand your car? You should also spend the next 2 years reading every single post by Q45tech (even though 98% of them have absolutely ZERO to do with the Y33). Then, and only then are you entitled to ask questions.

If it is YOUR choice whether to answer a question or not, how can you be inconvienced by anyone's questions. If its a problem for you to answer a questions then BE QUIET-DON'T ANSWER! Maybe these issues are old to you but they are new to others.

Why don't you keep you're studious and intentially genious opionions to yourself. I now understand why you routinely and only insult new members-you're a bully. I'm sick and tired of your "contributions."

Okay, some of us will answer questions, you should try to order a manual from Infiniti, good to time to get one now as they sunset stuff for our cars in about 7 years. I would also look at your floor mats, if they are not like new order some new ones as they also are limited time offers and nothing like factory mats. There is a great link to Scotsdale Infiniti where NICO members get a nice discount doing mail order, I think it is Everythinginfiniti like, ask for Joe if you can but they are all helpful. I also scored a nice Q45 trunk mat from him.

As for gas, pump the most octane you can get. In CA we only get 91 and my 97' has 85k on it and runs just fine, but no reason to use anything lower with this car. You can see both in the gas door and on the dash "Premium Unleaded Only" and no reason to go lower.

Good luck and you can ask questions, lots of us play nice. Do spend some time searching for you own enjoyment, there is a lot of info on the site about the Y33's now.
