Hello! I am very new to this website, but I have been told this is a great website to get help and information from people. I just purchased a 1990 Nissan 240SX hatchback. It was origionally a Automatic. The previous owner swapped in a KA24DE with a manual trans. He left the old ECU from the Auto KA24E to run the Maunual KA24DE.

The car has a *Somewhat* Homemade Cold Air intake. And there is no catalitic converter on the car, Straight exhaust. Also, all AC has also been removed.

The exterior is in rough shape, *I will be posting pictures soon if someone will help me out on my following questions*

He tried to do a 93 front end conversion to get rid of the pig nose front end.

My problem is that the car has an idle'ing problem. The car also gets very shaky in first and second gear... He has a short throw shifter kit on the car.

Please help me on how to fix this issue.I just turned 18 and bought this car for 1,400 locally from craigslist.

Please respond as I will be looking foward to some advice/support.

Again, Thanks for everyones help, and sorry if i made a repetative thread. Alright, im noticing a lot of views.. Someone.. please say something! XD

first thing id do is check the timing. look at the top of the gen chat page in the stickies theres links to the FSM's. look in there for the proper procedures. look at the one for the year of the motor, not the car. check the timing and your basics(plugs, vac lines/leaks,etc) then post what youve found

Will Do. The car has 140,000 miles on it.. the engine and trans have roughly 100,000 on the car.

I am changing oil, filter, and tubes tomorrow. I will place pictures if someone will offer me help/advice. Thanks for your advice!

Mine did the same thing. get someone to rev it up some while you oversee the engine. listen carefully for a suction noise of any kind and find where its coming from. mine turned out to be a vaccuum hose that popped off when i popped the clutch at like 6 thousand. when i plugged it with my finger, (i already had my idle set high like yours) it shot up to like 4k. so i readjusted my idle to normal and hooked up the hose. its perfect now.
