just got my 240 and the key wont come out ...

Hey I just bought a 91 240SX SE and now whenever I turn the car off , the key turns but the little button above it wont go in so the key doesn't come out. Right now to get around this I have the ignition switch removed so I can flick the tiny metal tab next to the key so the button goes in ( It says to do that in the manual) The manual says that this happens when the battery is low , but it's a new battery. I'm wondering if this happens often and what I can do to fix it. I've had this car only a few days and I already know that I will keep it as long as I can .... this is such a pain though. :help

kinda dumb but if its auto make sure its in park. and try wigglign the steering wheel if the lock ingages sometimes it gets in a weird position and doesn't allow the button to depress.

ya i have to wiggle the steering wheel sometimes to get it in or out...just dumb old ignition

Just to add on, try pushing the gear selector all the way up. Make sure it clicks in. My friend's auto S13 had the same problem and just need to give a firm push to disengage the key lock.
