Just got mine GT2871R!!!!!! really happy. A/R .86 cause it'll be used for street & strip. Polished and everything the thing just looks great. bolts on really easy. oil lines hook up, only the waterline needs to be fabbed up. a few holes need to be bored out on the dump pimp. Turbo needs to be reclocked, outlet and intake need to be fabbed up also. So it's all small things that need to be done for the rest it's alll good. i'm running the tial wastegate on the stock mani at the moment. I'm also converting to top feed injectors, 720CC. Management will be done with a microtech LT-8. Anyone else running the GT2871R?? can't wait to test the thing. will let you know how it went.

Well I'm not fromthe US. I'm located in the carribean. Tuning is done at a local shop by J&S racing. they have the fastest 4 cyl on the island. we don't have dyno's on the island so all tuning is done on the street with wideband O2.

This is the turbo I am thinking about getting. Do the Taka T25 lines fit on this?

Well the original T25 oil lines fit on the GT2871R, only the waterline needs to be adjusted.

Hey civicsi2 what boost are you running?? and at what duty cycle are your injectors???

i got mine running last nite.

sick!!! the .64 trim is nuts, i love how the boost comes on so early, its only a tad later than the t25, but when it hits it hits hard.

im running too rich, scotts sending me another tune but other than that the car is great. dynod 300whp at 15psi with a 10:1 a/f. once i fix that a/f i hope to hit 350.

its a great turbo!

When you say needs to be adjusted, would that be possible with the flexible water line available with the Taka kit? Or would the line just not fit at all? Thanks for the info.

mynismo what injectors are you using?? I'm also running way too rich. What duty cycle your injectors got?? Can't wait too feel the power....

pgt892 what we did... we just cut the lines and used a hose and clamped them to the fittings of the waterline... no hassle..Cause the oem waterline will come up short....... i'm not sure of the taka kit cause i'm not familiar with it but if it has a flexible hose then i would think it'll fit

Sorry for sounding ignorant, but what do you mean when you say the turbo needs to be reclocked? I know the outlet and intake pipe need to be custom, I have that planned out already.Im ordering the gt2871r a/r .86 soon and I plan on installing it myself so Im trying to figure out everything I need to do as far as a proper "new" turbo install goes. I appreciate any help

clocking the turbo is simply a matter of loosening all the bolts on both sides of the middle of the turbo to loosen the middle section. then you rotate it to match up with your lines and our motor (about 180 degrees).

the actuator will need a little playing around with but it fits right up, you'll know what to do when you are at that point.

That comparison graph was great info. While the .64 predictably boosted earlier, the .86 had a really nice, steady rise of power. Makes me want to get the .86.

actually, the .86's rise in power is almost exactly the same as the .64, the .64 just peaks a hell of a lot sooner.

i've driven in both, and lag is very noticeable in the .86, but is almost nonexistent in the .64.

if you want topend power, get the .86.

if you want a fun car to drive, get the .64.

I'm thinking with a nice exhaust manny *cough* full-race *cough* the .64 would generate just as much top end power as the .86 with the stock log manifold. And without sacrificing too much spool up time. Any thoughts on this?

Hehe, well I think you'd gain a bit more than 20whp running 20 psi on a GT2871r...but you never know Besides, a nice manifold is a great addition when you've "exhausted" all your other options...hahaha...haha...ha...hoooo boy, I crack myself up
