Just got her last week 220k miles seems to be sharp inside an out. Had to buy a new alternator and upgraded the battery to a yellow top optima. The guy threw in a die hard battery and let me discover the alt. was bad when i got home. Paid 4k seems to be a good buy. Anything i should look out for? This is my first 240 and want to make sure i know all the goods bads dos and donts i guess. Opinions welcome as always and thanks in advance.

Really even though the exterior and interior is pretty much new looking? I really could'nt find anything better on CL in California for months. I drove 3 and a half hours to get this one when it popped up.

What are the typical donts on these cars? I know in my last forum there was a few things people got flamed on hard for. I mean im going to do whatever i want to do in the end but i was just curious since im new here. And new to the 240sx world.

Nice.... except the wheels And don't mind them I got my 96 for 6gs but its a bit cleaner than yours and It was delivered too me from the paint booth also it was untouched meaning never modified in any way. Which is also what you should be looking out for. Other than frame damage and suspension damage cuz these cars are crashed into curbs alot. I would check what mods the previous owner did or tried to do and failed . But god damn thats got some mileage mine was 150XXX.

Good luck and start saving for a new engine or a rebuild with that mileage and no rebuild it could only be a plus to save now.

how can that be a kouki?

I notice a few differences though compared to my '96. I don't have sidemarkers on the fenders and the buttons under the ac/heating control are different. gauges are different as well

by the way, nice car, looks clean, bay is very clean. looks like it was well taken care of (or well prepped for the sell).

i think he took good care of it the seats look like they were hardly sat in everything is clean inside and out. I dunno though i guess i will discover things as i go. So far bad alternator changed out. Optima battery installed. and clutch needed to be bled other then that shes been good so far.

Not to ruin your fun or anything but is it just me or does this car not look straight?

Well unfortunately the panel gaps (especially where the fender meets the hood and the driver's side door) aren't even... often times this is indicative of accident damage. I could be wrong though.
