Just got free nonrunning Caddy yesterday.

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

The significant part is the 5.7 liter v8 that resides under the hood. Unfortunately it's an iron block and I'm assuming this is what is considered an LT1. I'm having a hard time finding specs on this car with some sites not listing this engine for the 90's model year.

The current plan is to cram it into the s13 but it's gonna need a rebuild and I'd like to convert it to a carbed setup instead of messing with the efi that's on it right now. I love simplicity and basically all I really got here was a block, heads, and brackets for the auxiliary equipment.

So the question becomes can someone point me in the right direction as to where I need to go to find information on rebuilding this thing with high comp pistons, cams, and a 4 barrel? Sorry for the really basic question but I'm almost domestic illiterate.

Pictures. Because everyone loves pictures. Especially pictures of rusty cars.

I still haven't been able to find any information that specifically relates to what engine this might be other than the 350 aspect of it.

It seems to have throttle body injection from what I can tell but so far what I've seen on the cad forums are people saying to just get a carbed crate motor etc. etc. Might not be a bad idea to just pull this one and use it for misc hardware and fitting.

probably just a 350 4 bolt with the crappy TBI.

make it run and roll like a broke *** pimp.

I wouldn't put that motor near anything geared towards performance.

it *might* make 200hp.

what year is the car? mid 80's?

yank the tbi, carb it, rebuild it, make lots of power. carb sbc's make lots of power easliy and cheaply. and it fits well.

ive had my 350 in my s13 for about a year now and it runs like a champ, and for a total refresh (rings, bearings, gaskets and misc parts like oil pickup, wp, etc.) cost me a little under 500, including machining (honing, bearings pressed in ect) another 5-700 for some go fast parts (cam, pushrods, intake, carb, lifters, headers) and do some homemade port work on the heads and youll see 300 easily.

ebay and swap meets ftw. good luck!
