Broke in my new Z in at VIR at an Audi event this past week. Torque is a wonderful thing. Car ran/handled beautifully. I had one of just two Nissans there. the other Nissan was a very quick (modified) SE-R. There were also two brand new Lancer Evo's there. I caught a ride in one of them. Blazing. Essentially straight out of the box track cars! I loved the Recaro seats which are standard in them.

Yeah, the owner of one of Evo's told me the OEM tires will last maybe 10,000 miles. Very soft compound rubber. The huge wing and multiple scoops looked ricey to me at first glance, but when I got up close and realized they're all very functional, I was impressed. Evo was much more quiet than I thought it would be. You hear the turbo's far more than the exhaust. The guys in the paddock said the Z was also very quiet at speed....The Evo owner owns a performance shop. I suspect he's going to make it into godzilla before the next track event. Oh well.

you mean turbo (minus the s)

and the evo is about on par with a 350z to my knowlege (price wise) and fairly on par performance wise...of course the 350 owning the top end speed and turning while the evo has acceleration and exit speed

I just saw my first Evo 8 today at work. Some guy my age(around 23) was driving it. We talked for about 10 minutes about the car and some others we both knew about. Was 35k out the door. They say it puts out 240hp + to the wheels, and it's fast. I wasn't sure how I'd like the new front and back end of it, but when I got up close to it, it didn't look that bad at all. I don't think it's as clean as the older Evo VI, but I wouldn't turn it down if someone gave it to me. ;)

I think it's a hell of a start for the Lancer line in the U.S.
