Well I just ran the 1/4 and I was pretty disapointed with my best time of 15.7. My car has been having problems lately and please help me out http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....81475

Well I ran a 16.3 and a 16.8 for my first two runs spinning all the way through 1st gear. Both of those runs I trapped at 87.7mph. I think I ran through the water and on stock tires I guess I shouldnt have been supprised. On my third run I tried to go around the water and did a mini burnout. That run got me this:

R/T .66960' 2.267330 6.6511/8 10.183mph 69.891000 13.9191/4 15.7MPH 88.65

I think I should have done better but my car feels sluggish.

Eric

I got down to 15.3 in my sr. I have full exhaust, but i had only been driving stick for 2 weeks when i pulled that run....What mods do you have? Also if you were spinning your tires alot:1:work on your launch...2:try deflating your rear tires a little bit, you can grab a little more(i haven't tried this yet)3:Go to the track a few more times, the first time i went my best was 16.3, my first run on my sr was 16.9, i thought my motor was brokenhaha

On the 15.7 I tried to drive around the water on the track then did a mini burnout to make sure my tires wernt wet. I think that was why I spun all the way through first the other times. I also lowered my tire pressure to 26psi but my 60' time of 2.2 isnt too bad. The problem is that my turbois shot. I have anoter thread asking what a blown turbo sounds like and I am pretty sure mine is dead.

2.2 60ft does kinda suck... (i could only manage a 2.1) You would be faster if you could bring that down a lottle (i know it's damn near impossible)

I'll scope out the blown turbo post in a sec but there are a couple things you should definately check.

Make sure you have zero boost leaks. They will kill you. Also check to see that the timing is at 15` BTDC. My car ran great at 5` but it had no power at all. I advanced the timing and it felt like a whole different car.

Looks like your car is losing top-end or something. Maybe shifting too slow?

I got a 15.5 with a 2.4 60 ft at 92 mph. Got a 15.038 with a 2.2 60 ft at 91 mph. 15.6 with a 2.4 60 ft at 77 mph at 10 psi :ylsuper

My mods were 2.5" custom crush bent exhaust with gutted cat and K&N filter.

I ran a 13.5@99mph at 9psi on mine with just intake, exhaust and drag radials, I had a 1.8 60ft. sounds like you need better tires.

a 2.2 60ft does not "suck". 2.2 is fine, although you can definately improve, it's nothing to be embarassed about.

you're trap speed seems a little low. I doubt an intake is going to be your solution. Just sounds like it's not putting the power down like it should be.

BTW, my motor ( redtop ) is coming in this Thursday. Gonna install this weekend, so there's another SR powered 240 in the area. :)

well I have three posts about three of my problems and if you follow the links I posted in this thread and the other thread you can determine if my motor is shot. I can wiggle the shaft of my turbo and my engine is reading about 150psi +/- 10 on all cyclinders and I can smell gas in the oil. Is my engine just shot?

Gass in the oil? Bad news. Somebody probably beat the hell out of the motor back in Japan. Chance you take when you buy a motor.

VW... did you check the injecotr O rigns.... Timing is also key... both were messed up in my car...

wuss a 2.2 does suck... badly... I can't get mutch better (2.14ish). I'm not embarassed about it but the cars are capable of mutch better. I don't look at it as a bad thing but a thing with room for improvement. Tires and a nice launch and you can significantly improve your 1/4 mile times. My CRX pulled consistent 2.2's and it's FWD.

If i was running 1.8 60ft times and still getting crappy 1/4's i'de be upset...

a 2.2 doesnt suck. a 2.4 sucks. a 2.2 i would say is average, but like i said originally, there is a lot of room for improvement.

I just went to Capital Raceway and ran a dissapointing time of 14.7sec with a 2.6 60' (This was my first time dragging) It just makes me feel better to know I do have a 13sec car. I'm just a crappy drag racer:pface

My problem is too much rear camber (for the road courses) and 41psi of tire pressure. I will attempt to get some of these issues resolved and see what I can muster.

FYI- Drag radials will help tremedously. There were guys that were running 1.8~1.9 60' with them

I've got a SR20 fastback set at 10psi with intake and 3" catback exhaust. With BF goodrich street slicks, what do you guys think I should be able to run?

Capital is where I put down my horrible numbers. The first 60' feel like ice. I couldn't get traction at all!

I am going to MIR later this month and will give you guys the results of that journey.

The funny thing is now my wife is addicted to drag and wants to take the Mazdaspeed back to the track
