Buy Ivan's or tophat engien and go from there. But fi you are goign to be over 400rwhp you need the AEM EMS. so already you are doen to 2k for your turbo setup but your engine is bulletproof with superior tuning capabilities.

by far, i would just buy an engine already built from either top hat or phat ka-t. unless u really feel the need to the piece by piece route, it will just be easier on the wallet. Checkered member's list is somewhat accurate but im sure i could probably knock off a thousand off of his total if not more with some diligent hunting for those parts. 8K is really good budget and as said before, aem ems for ur power goals. At that fuel level and power level, u really need a standalone to make sure that everything is tuned to a T

JWT ECU 72lb program is good for 500hp. Call them and ask around or search on freshalloy.com forums for T66240. You kats ain't been around enough to know these things! Besides, I think 500hp in a 2wd 3000 lb car is way too much. I would invest more into other things, like tires

True that, Those that can produce 500+ hp on their KA only run 400 at the track

i'm really sorry, but i have to say this.

if i see another airman get back from overseas and spend all the money he earned risking his life on his car and save none of it, i'm going to puke.

do yourself a favor and put some of it away, college, a house, kids, there are many things you'll really need it for in the future.

sorry about that, it really pisses me off. i see it way too often.

thank you for helping out, i should be over there in may.

I took the liberty of adding some parts...

Pistons: 490 (Supertech)Rods: 690 (Pauter)Rod Bearings: 75Forged valves: 320 - you're smoking some crack, SI valves are $12.50 a piece, i'll just do some but math and tell you that comes out to about $220Valve springs: 400Valve job + porting: 650-850 - maybe in "recockulous priceville, TN" - valve job is $150, mild P&P there is ALWAYS someone in EVERY city who will hook it up for $150 or less. Cams: 400-500Cometic Headgasket: 100APR studs: 290

Turbo Garrett GT35R BB: 1400Manifold: 750 DP:350 - once again, you might be living in that city in TN.... $75 at any exhaust shopIntercooler: 200-500 - eBay r0x0rs your boxers, biggest damn intercooler you'll ever need is $220 to your doorHKS BOV: 23038mm gate: 250Flywheel: 550 - who the hell said you NEED a light flywheel? If you are going for 500hp, then I would guess he's probably drag racing, and well, I'm sure you know a heavier flywheel is actually preferable for that application.Clutch: 350AEM EMS: 1800phatka-t fuel system: 750+200 upgrade - re-cockulous once again, mustang fuel rail and some big injectors, $500 tops.

Around 10400 bucks without any engine work (besides porting) and without intercooler piping, oil lines, gaskets, clams, shipping, tax.

Advice: keep saving…lol
I coudl go on and on and about the other stuff, the fact people have already made over 400whp on a $250 Log manifold, you don't NEED a $750 manifold, you don't NEED a ball bearing turbo, **** a $750 Precision061 (I think thats the .63 a/r T350 / Gt40 combo's number) will take you to 500 WHP EASY every day of the week -- and the fact you can buy major standalones like a haltech or microtech for $1200 or less vs a plug n play EMS. The more work you do yourself, the cheaper it becomes. 500whp with 8,000 is VERY attainable.

The transmission and Rear End are more then up to 500WHP. Already been done.

TOKI is 100% correct, 500whp is nothing but a turbo and boost away with everything in stock trim except the pistons and rods.

Combine a good turbo with fuel and timing control and I'll give you 500WHP in one day of tuning. It's really not that difficult.

Look at Ivan's project...Boost + Engine Management = over 500 to the wheels.

So 8 Grand is plenty.
