One of the technician took the car for a drive and I showed him all the symptoms I was seeing. He pointed out that the vibration part was due to the treads on my tire. he said the tires can be bounced forever and it still wouldn't fix the vibration. he said the remedy is to replace em. he pointed out the large gaps in the treads and then compared the tires to an infiniti that happened to be next to my car. he said the thinner the gap, the smoother and less vibration i willl get.

now, about the hesitation/skipping. i'm skeptical about this but he explained that that was due to the torque. he said when the car downshifts from shift to shift that is when I sense the hesitation. is he pulling my leg or is there a problem guys???

i mean, he drove it and that is what he had to say. he did also mention that the car drives pretty well for a car will that many miles on it

There is a problem. If you quoted him accurately, I would run to another dealer. "Bounced"?

Surely this was the dealer's lead technician? It was really just the wash boy, right?

You expect postive feedback from negative information? The comments of the service technician you quoted were not relevant to your problems.

Sorry! Would you prefer we lie and tell you everything is as it should be?__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

I think he meant to say BALANCED!!!

Could have been a minor misunderstanding.....

Are we a bunch of 10 year old girls here bickering???

I suppose what you are describing as the hesitation could be true.. The engine is kinda dead right after it shifts (gotta love wide gear ratios), unless your at WOT... You gotta give it some gas right after a shift to really make it do something.....

Hmmm...so Wes, you are saying Truest doesn't know the difference between the word "balanced" and "bounced"? Maybe, but I would assume he does and he used the word bounced as a direct quote. Especially in light of that inaccurate information about tread voids, which had nothing to do with anything, I believe Truest accurately quoted the technician. But, then again, he didn't sound like any technician I would let work on my car.

At least I gave Truest the benefit of the doubt. __________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

I think the tech is full of it!,he is claiming that due to the torque of the engine, there is hesitation when DOWNSHIFTING?Wes,you seem to be describing what may be possible, but never experienced by me,in driving a q over 100,000 miles so far,the "dead"sopt after the transmission UPSHIFTS-find another technician,or better yet spend a few hours test driving other same generation{97-2001}at car dealers!

See my thread on the 0.78- 0.80 second power cut just before and during shift 1>2nd shift at WOT.

Sorry Truest, I did not have signatures turned on. That caused some confusion for me. It would be nice if you posted that in the body of your post instead of your sig, because some people don't have signatures showing

Truest... I suggest editing your profile and adding your car info to the left, under your avatar. :)

Brian... that union job must be stressful. :(
