Just got an origin streamline front bumper do i have to remove the support?

It is not going to fit if i leave the bumper support on but the though of removing it scares me quite a bit, do i just have to trim the support? the bumper cannot be trimmed or it is going to look rediculous, i just dont want to run without a bumper support unless its not bad to... anyways late for work let me know what you think.Thanks.

BTW i cannot just leave the corners, the corners are what i really need to cut they do not fit at all.

if you want to put the bumper on remove the suport, fab up your own thats smaller and install the bumper.or just take it off and leave it off.

True i have thought about Fabbing my own by using some type of rectangluar tubing having it bent similar but not stick out so far.. and at the same time utilizing the stock mounting brackets for it.

Yeah i will probably try that, or just cut the corners off the support and see if it fits then, as long as i have something there itll be better than nothing. I dont want to ruin everything from a minor crash.

I just want the car to not get extremely damaged in a crash, plus i have been driving around today with the support off and the chassis flex has increased dramatically.

Most of the Japanese cars have a much smaller bumper reinforcement than the USA counterpart.

At any rate, I hope you can make something work.

I drove my 14 with NO reinforcements for 5 years.

i just bought a 91 with a body kit and the owner had to loosen the bar and tilt it higher. i just have to drill new holes now and secure it tight

I had to remove mine all together. I never thought about fabbing one, but it would be easy to keep the stock brackets and weld some thick rebar to them.

I usually cut the support and try to keep most of the support. Sometimes it gets a little flimsy if you cut out too much and you may have go make some support brackets.

Bumper support and bumper reinforcement are two totally different things.

and really, it isn't even a bumper support, it's a bumper retainer.

For most aftermarket bumpers, you just need to cut off the two "horns" on the sides of the bumper support.
