nice find....

I'd look for a fj20et since they seem to be relatively cheap engines...

Got a parts source lined up do you? I can't imagine trying to support such an antique engine. Well I can but only because I'm sitting on three or four and a stack of goodies for them.

Do the VG man!

Welcome to the s12 club! I was given a s12 CA18ET, and plan on swapping a CA18DE turbo conversion in mine. I'll just learn from Sean's mistake. Glad to see another s12 in here.

Nice find, it's a fun car and a good project. As for swapping a VG into a CA car, I don't know anybody that has, all the VG30E-powered S12's around are original factory 200SX SE V6's, but at least you know it'll fit in the engine bay! One of the things you'll need to get is an upper intake plenum from a 200SX V6, it's one of the few things that's S12-specific, it's shorter in height than the Z31 plenum, so as to fit under the S12 hood. Or you could use a Z31 plenum and get a custom hood with more clearance, or a hood with the scoop from an 84 200SX turbo, but those are hard to find.

Not that I know of. There has been some talk about using a VG33ER out of an S/C Xterra or Frontier, but no one has tried that I know of.

That would be pretty awesome in that little car! They need to make a VG33DER!
