I had a similar issue with mine. The first thing I did was remove the screws and rev the engine, the thing just popped out.

Since then, though, I just use a pair of pliers with a shop towel wrapped around the jaws and just wiggle it out. If that doesn't work then I don't know what to tell ya.

Did you just rev it up and it flew out or did you rev it up then pull it out with pliers? Mine is in there pretty good, though, but i seriously cant find my needle nose. I had two pairs on top of my tool chest, but Ill try and rev it up as much i as i can and see what happens, if not ill try and find my needle nose.

Yuck.

Silencers give babies HIV.

Anyhow, I'd try putting a wall anchor and a long bolt through the hole. The wall anchor will "flip open" and grab onto the silencer, then yank that $%^&er out with some vice grips.

Careful of the Chinese welds.

No, through the center of the silencer.

Not to be a jerk, but this is kinda one of those "Mcgyver" things that should come naturally to ya.

Probably not to a 14 year old kid who barely knows anything about the engine of a car. You can show me a picture of any car you would see on the streets and i could name it, but engine wise i suck, but ive watched a lot of Mythbusters and Powerblock.

So wait i put it in that small chrome hole in the center? I thought that was part of the muffler itself not the silencer?

What is what? A wall anchor? its what AZhitman posted a pic of just go to a hardware store and ask for one of decent size. If it still dosen't come out then run the car for awhile so the exhaust gets hot, that should expand the metal a bit.

Naw im not driving yet, although on occasions i do drive around the block, but i cant drive yet. Though i am a good driver, just a bit of a lead foot with the stick , but when i drive an automatic im alright. Im still learning so i will hopefully not be such a lead foot with the stick by the time my birthday rolls around this year.

Go take a picture of it and post it up here.

It might be one of those lame cheap ebay exhausts with the silencer tack-welded in.

If you haven't tried just revving it a bit to pop the thing out, try it. Might work, and would save you a lot of hassle. Just make sure you undo the bolts first so you aren't pissing into the wind

If that doesn't work, hitman's idea would probably be the best. If all else fails, you could try sticking some kind of chisel in between the exhaust/silencer and pry it out. You'd end up damaging the silencer, but who needs it anyway.

Forgot to mention, revving it to around 2000-2500 did it for me. You might need to go up to 3k if it's as stuck as it seems to be.

All great ideas. I tryed revving even to 5k and yet nothing. Do i need to hold it at 4 or 5k or just rev it up to that point then let off the gas? But ill get some better pix when its not so wet out. I hate Florida. I wish i was in like Michigan or something. That would be more fun...except for the fact that i wouldnt be able to take the car out for a spin during the winter. There's a flaw in every great plan.

Bah just use a blow torch on the outside of the muffler around the area where the silencer is, once its good and hot yank the thing out with vice grips or whatever else you can get a good grip with.

Got it out yet?

If not, I'd recommend taking it to an exhaust shop to see if they can. That one in particular looks to be a bugger to get out, can't get a good grip on anything.
