i just got a 240 and i am wondering on what mods i should do first, and if there is a certain brand that everyone is happy with and that have worked well

Give your car a good tune up ---drive and get comfortable with your car--As far as mods are concerned--it is personal taste and $$$$ ---speed costs Dinero---how fast do you want you taco to go.

Beautification is the last thing to worry about so if it's ugly sand it down a bit and primer over the paint. Also before you start thinking about speed ask yourself if that's the motor you want to trick out. If not just save a bit and buy your new motor. Then start doing things like the suspension. Then go for the HKS exhaust, manifold, and tip. After that go all out on your turbo (waste gate, intercooler, rebuild the motor, etc.).

your car is old, it WILL need things replaced. after that id start with suspension and wheels/tires.

so i was on my way to pick up the car.... right after i posted this..and i called the guy to let him know i was on my way.. with money in had to pay for the car.. and he tells me me had just walked inside from selling the car.i said "WHAT!!!!" he said yeah i sold it.. and he sold it for 200 less then i was going to pay!!im so mad because i cannot find another 240 aroudn her for my pricerange.i was soo bummed and still am..

get to know your car first...enjoy it in its stock form...learn the habits of it. research...check out different brands...use this website...probably your best choice on the net (search button is your friend)

Then...you mod it...start with performance then work your way outside.

And listen up buddy...
