yaa so im new to the forum and just got a 89 240 for $700, came with intake, megan exhaust, tein suspension, racing steeringwheel, american racing seats, megan strut bars, those gay projector headlights and a few other things... a really good deal if you ask me but anyways of course theres a few problems which i was wondering if anyone would like to help me with...

1. weird rattling noise that sounds like its coming from underneath the drivers seat

2. came with a sony deck and it kinda just stopped working (also tried another deck, didnt work) along with the clock by the gauges, it lights up but doesnt show the time anymore.

3. another noise that seems to occasionaly be coming from the rear especially when turning...

thats about all i can think of right now, tell me what you think on everything. any advice would be great... thanks

-Joe

1. Look under your drivers seat to see if there are any loose objects under there.

2. Maybe it's an electrical wiring problem?

3. Check your spare tire area, maybe your car jack is just sliding around back there.

Welcome to NICO.

1. look at your exhaust 2. ground for the deck might be dissconected and check the fuse for the clock 3. look at your suspension i had a lot of noise in the back of my old escort and it turned out to be the upper mount broke off of the strut

Have a nice day and thank you for choosing Nico Airlines

my car rattled because the stock exhaust finally snapped into pieces and i have the time chain rattle. if you have rust under the drivers door there may be a piece of rust loose and rattling inside the frame. i had pieces in my frame. sounds retarded but yup it was there.

thanks for the help, checked to see if it was the exhaust a few days ago and everything seems to be fine with that... really cant seem to find what the noise is coming from because everything seems to be sturdy, i will check the domelight fuse though but i dont know about the rust my car has some rust but its nothing rediculous like the usual hatch rust because of the ****in stock spoiler and the side fenders everything else is fine, i still think i got a ill ****in deal on the car

Hey Joe welcome to 240 country...$700 is a steal for a working 89 S13.

1) It could be your catalyitic converter plate (not sure if that is the name).- It is a plate that is bolted to the car above the cat. to keep the cat's heat from the cars cabin. Its like 4 bolts or something. Tighten them up you should be golden. Or your converter is shot and is in like a million pieces.

2) Not a wiring expert but I would definitly remove the sony deck and inspect. (it rhymes for a reason )

3) Um there is ALLOT that can be wrong there...- Describe the noise- In which direction that you turn does it make noise?- At what speeds?- Under braking does it make noise?- Aftermarket differential (I assume it doesn't)The list goes on.

Also just a word of advice... Make sure to ALWAYS and before posting on NICO. You did fine in this post, but many people make this mistake.

Again welcome

thanks for the warm welcome

the noise underneath the drivers seat only really happens at lower speeds, its not a constant noise either it just kinda comes and goes, as for the noise in the rear it usually comes with a left or right turn, i was looking down there just before and everything seems fine but im no expert. thanks again for all the advice guys
