Hey guys, I just got a 03 G35, with 105,000 miles on it. There are several issues I have found recently, so I think I need some help from you guys! Thanks in advance!

The first one is about the transmission. It is automatic with the manual mode, but whenever I pull the shifter into manual mode, it shows the 4th gear no matter how fast or slow the car is even it's stopped. Is that a common thing or there is something wrong with it?

The brake gives noise when the speed is low.

And according to the manual, it's time to replace the spark plugs. Is there any plug you guys recommend? and do I have to do it at the dealership?

What is the average gas mileage for that model? I got about 18 for the last tank (about half highway half local), is that too much for the car?

Is there anything else I should pay attention to the car right now?

I know there must be a lot of stuff for me to learn here, so please feel free to throw anything! All suggestion will be very appreciated! Thanks!

Im assuming that's 100,500 miles?...about the transmission thats perfectly normal I thought the same thing when I first got my car and took it back to the deal for someone to explain to me why they programmed the transmission to start out in 4th, but I forgot so im pretty much no help in explaining that. The stock brake pads are great, but noisy as all get out...I suggest you go after market many people on here go with Hawks HPS, which is what I run on my car and they work the same as stock, but no noise. As for gas in the summer I get about 19 mpg and in the winter I get around 14mpg and when I say winter I mean when it drops for 40 degrees for about a week... . It all depends how hard you drive your car, type of gas and outside temperature. You drive it soft and you'll get honda like gas milege. Drive it hard and you'll get V12 gas milege.

Change plugs with NGK Iridium IX. You can find them at local parts stores for $8-10 a piece.

Transmission is normal. Although, I think this was changed out later to drop to 1st if you are stopped...not sure.

I average about 20 MPG. Winter def. drop the gas mileage if you live in the cold. Winter gas formulas along with extended warm up times just mean you will be in higher idle and get crappy mileage. I have gotten as much as 28 MPG on a trip from Phoenix to Salt Lake City.

When you change your brakes out, I recommend better rotors and pads. I warped mine too easily. Since I upgraded to the X drilled/Slotted rotors I've had much better success.

You might want to change out your fluids as well...coolant & brake. Check the transmission fluid to see if it needs a flush/drain&fill. Differential.

These cars are great. I've got 136K on mine now.

Welcome to NICO

Glad to have another owner. Lets see what we can do to make that car even more fun. You ready to start modding?

Thank you so much for your help guys! I will take some pics ASAP, after cleaning it anyway

By the way, to John, of course I would like to mod it, but I have to consider the budget you know. I think I should get these job done first, and maybe I will try something inexpensive after that. (Your car is killer!)

I am so glad to join NICO, and learning stuff from you guys! Thanks!
