I just put in the J30 diff yesterday. It was contrary to everyhting i ever heard from anybody about putting this crap in.First off, it was so easy! took me three hours WITH beer breaks.Boo to all you who said it would take a day. Second, it plugged right in! no adapting, pushing, pulling or anything! The only parts that you need are the chassis bolts from the J30, gasket, and the cover from your old diffy.

So anyway, i dont have any noticable acceleration drop, and the handling is much more stable and quiet. Thanks to all who recommended it.

Its was a '94. Which is another reason i say that everyone was wrong. The posts ALL said, "you have to use a post-'95". CRAP. The side-shafts were a perfect tri flange by 2 bolts. Yeah so 94 and up J30 diffy bolts right into a 91-93 s13 for sure. Just get the bolts from the J30, the two big ones near the driveshaft connection.I wheeled and dealed on this one for only 200 bucks.

Maybe. though i heard here that they might have the same output shaft connection as a '91+ 300zx non-turbo (but maybe thats the early '89s). Take a quick look at the under rear of your car and see if it has five single bolt flanges or three 2-bolt flanges. The connection to the axles is right off the center pumpkin. If its got the three flange type, you're in business.

actually your stock bolts will work, you just need to add washers because the lsd diffs have large holes with bushings that can break. what i did was get the bolt and bushing set from the car i got the diff from and it all bolted up very nicely. im sure this bolt bushing assembly can be had from the local dealer.luigi

Biggest problem is that the J30 diff has different greas, so acceleration will drop, but top speed will go up.
