Hi everyone,

As some of you may or may not know, my co-driver at Pikes Peak is a quadriplegic. The first, and only, quadriplegic competitor in the 88 year history of the race. He's also a Nissan fanatic and recently his new daily driver was completed. Thought you guys might kinda dig it. I don't know allot of details, I just know it's f'ing cool. The hoist in the back puts his chair right by the door so he can hop out and get on his way.

Travis is a great kid, and getting this truck put together gives him back some of the freedom he lost after his accident.

bye!

That truck is awesome. Most worthy slammed truck ever.

For those who haven't read Ken's article on the Pike's Peak car build and run, you can find it here:

A quadriplegic is missing all four limbs, correct?
If so, how does he drive the Nissan?

Awesome car though.

Not missing four limbs but partial or total paralysis in all four limbs. Still though, don't see driving anything being possible.
E-Props to Travis.

Usually am not a fan of the slammed trucks... Looks clean and is functional.

I think like rally, co-driver = navigator right?
Either way, awesome that he can stay in motor sports despite the unfortunate condition. Guess it goes to show instead of acting defeatist and complaining about your situation get to it and make it work for you. If a quadriplegic can be a pikes peak competitor you have little excuse for letting your self be beat by what ever little problems you may face.

Co-driver = Navigator.

Travis has some use of his arms. Only certain muscles function. His grip is minimal, but he can raise his arms. He uses a manual chair to stay strong, and has the most incredible positive attitude. He truly is an inspiration, and I'm stoked that he's a part of our team. He has a never quit philosophy and sincerely believes he'll walk again (and he will).

I'll ask him to send me some interior shots and post them up here!

Thanks!
