I just dropped in a new motor in my car after my old one got a hole in it. Everything is hooked up, and the car started yet woe is me. It sounds like a lawnmower. I rev it hard to see response and I hear a big pop sound come from the intake and I think white misty smoke, I start pulling plugs after I get the timing good, and only three cylinders are running, the 4th one isn't. I look at the intake and I need new seals for the last two injectors on the fuel rail however my friend is telling me that its a timing problem, and I'm thinking, how? its got a timing chain not a belt. When I took out the spark plug and tested it I was getting spark and not seeing any fuel on the plug, just barely any so does anyone think it might be the leak or a stuck valve letting whatever fuel is being injected leak out through the intake valves? any help is appreciated, thanks

dont know much about the KA's, but I installed a rebuilt motor in my thunderbird last week, and the damn thing ran like a tractor for hours. We thought the firing order stamped on the intake was wrong, used eevery possible timing, even got a 15 foot compression stroke flame through the carb! and it was still running like a tractor. Then I noticed a disconected vacumm line, heh. PCV valve that connected to the valve cover, after that was connected, it ran like a charm! Double check all connections, my little advice.

yes, check and double check all connections, and then the ignition timing. if none of that helps then u might have to check the cam timing and make sure its all lined up, also try cleaning connections and the mafs. if the 4 cylinder isnt running then swap in a new plug, wire, or switch them with the #3 cylinder to see whats the prob.

ok I found one thign d/c, I checked all of my injectors and its in teh right order and same with firing, it started to run ok, then I revved it a little and a big puff of white smoke came out of the exhuast, running rich. I'm gonna replace that vacuum sensor and see if that helps, I also changed my MAFS which helped a little, the sensor that was d/c is a vacuum sensor reight on the back of the head its green it comes right before the wire for the O2 sensor, the book I have says its the SCV control Solenoid valve, and from what the diagram is showing me it controls the valves that are on the intake
