just dropped a used rebuilt motor now having more problems

well i'ma youngn to this and i want get into the whole drfting thang.but i just bought me this '89 240sx hatch that needed a motor so i my dad bought a rebuilt motor and got it installed at shop and the warranty is already done.NOW my engine shakes, check engine light turns on like after 60 mph, i hear alot of backfire and my idle gets all wierd. and sometimes dies on me too. oh and sometimes my car wont start i have to click over so many times for it to start...where do i start and what do i do: i know i have alot to learn. but i gotta learn sometime. oh yah anybody from the bay area i was wonderin where is a good place to find junked 240's tryin to get a dashboard mines cracked.

There are way to many things that this could be.

A good place to start is to look at the connection at the coolant temp sensor. make sure it is not corroded at all. If that doesn't fix it, pull the plugs and see whats going on.

If you can't do either of those, pay a competant shop to look at it.
