all i gotta say is Q45 brakes ftmfw!

$70 for both front calipers (egay) and $80 for both front rotors (advanced auto)

drilled the rotors for 4lug myself.

bolt on install ( USE THE FACTORY 240sx CALIPER BRACKET BOLTS!!! the Q45 ones are too long and will hit the rotors ) The Q45 calipers dont need any conversion lines like the Z32/Skyline calipers and they clear any wheels including steelies. you have to remove the dust shields to clear the rotors.

car stops like OMG so yea.... no pics cuz i was too lazy to bring the cam out and dont like touchin it when im dirty.. i can take pics later tho...

best part is the VS

-----------------------Stock 240SX-----Z32 Turbo-Skyline GT-R (R34)-'90-'96 Q45 Rotor Diameter:-----10 inch-----------11 inch--------11.6 inch---------11 inchRotor Thickness:-----18mm------------30mm-----------32mm-----------28mmRotor Weight:--------12.5 lbs---------17.5 lbs----------19 lbs----------17.5 lbsCaliper Type:-------1-pot sliding-----4-pot fixed-----4-pot fixed-----2-pot slidingCaliper Weight:--------9.5 lbs--------6.5 lbs (alum)----6.5 lbs----------11 lbs-------------------------------------10lbs (iron)

Pro's:+Bolt on+low cost+better heat capacity than stock+better clamping force than stock+clears stock wheels+larger pad surface than Z32

Con's-not as baller as Z32/Skyline brakes-weigh more than z32 alum set up-sliding calipers look gay compared to fixed calipers-less aftermarket options for pads than Z32

alot more good info on brake swap options can be found http://my240.epijunkie.com/5_Lug_and_Z3 ... ke_Booster

Yeeees, Q45 brakes are so good. If you want to make the bias feel better get a master cylinder from a 1989 Turbo 300ZX (Z31). It's the exact same as an S13 BMC but is bored out more so it'll move more fluid. I did that with mine and really helped out.

Great comparison, by the way.

ALSO, if you don't want to drill the rotors yourself, contact Travis at 88Rotors and tell him you want Q45 rotors drilled to 4x114.3. He just gets blanks and drills them out in house.

No, you don't need to do the rear brakes.

By the way, J30 brakes are the same.

I did mine the lazy way... i can go get the drill bit size but all i did was place the new rotor on the ground and then the old rotor on top so the hats were touching, i lined up one of the wheel stud holes and then spray painted the rotors so i could see where the other 3 hole were gunna be on the 5 lug rotor.

I then grabbed IIRC a 1/2" bit ( it fit in the factory lug hole really nicely ) and a smaller bit ( maybe a 1/4" bit). I used a center punch to mark where to drill and then started with the smaller bit. The smaller bit will stay in the center punch and drill truer without moving around as much. after i drilled my starter holes i moved on to the larger bit.

once that was done i test fit the rotor on the hub. The first rotor was ever so slightly off so i had to slightly enlarge the holes ( i was just eye balling the placement ). The second rotor went on the first time perfectly.

I honestly recommend getting rotors that are professionally modded unless you are good as fabrication... i drilled mine as i didnt have the slight extra money to purchase 4lug modded rotors and i didnt want to wait for mail order parts.

IIRC the rear is bolt on too but to be honest I'd save up for something more substantial like Z32 rears

I thought about painting mine as they were dirty lookin but i still have steel wheels so you cant see the calipers anyway and my stock caliper was leaking like a sift

meh took me like 10 mins a side to eyeball mark and drill but im not gunna worry about it because the next mod i do will be 5 lug conversion, i just need to find some 15" maxima steelies or some equally cheap 5 lug wheels.
