Just did a compression test. Now some questions.

Sohc motor. 243,XXX mi.new HGnew timing set (complete set)new cap, rotor, plugs, and wires.cam timing is spot on (tripple checked)new valve stem seals.OK, I got in my car one morning to go to school. I got a 1/4 mile down the road and all of a sudden the motor lost all power. It idles a little rough, but not violently. So I did a compression test.

Cylindar #1 - ~170psiCylindar #2 - ~190psiCylindar #3 - ~no reading on the guageCylindar #4 - ~also no reading.

What would make the compression go out all of a sudden like that? I did a compression test after I changed the HG back in July 06 and it came out good.

You could have bad valves or bad rings or another blown head gasket. You need to do a leakdown test on the two cylinders with no compression to see if the air comes out the exhuast or the intake means bent or burnt valve and if it comes out the dipstick tube means bad rings and if it sends coolant out the radiator means blown head gasket or if it blows air to another cylinder means blown head gasket or bad head . Good luck

I was also thinking broken valve springs. Although they are double springs it possible. Has anyone ever burt a hole in their piston(s)? I just sounds like a mechanical problem to me. I gotta do some looking around tomarro.
