I was just wondering what's the problem with my car even though I won't be fixing it cuz of putting in a swap. When I shift from 1st to 2nd fast the gear grind pretty bad...actually...really bad. But form 2nd-5th on it's ok. Throw out bearing?

gear syncro most likely. my 1-2 shift was horrible on my old neon, too many drops from 4th or 5th to 2nd

I suppose it should last me for a while..just depend on if I can withstand the noise or not. How easy is it to fix it?Never fixe a synchro before

You have to replace it really. Though it isn't expensive, taking your transmission off and apart usually isn't terribly fun.

it suxs major butt when you don't have a lift and power tools...sigh
