i mean, its just ridiculous. these ones on the back of mine have lasted all of 4k miles. 245/45/17. i havnt even done any donuts with them!! when i was rocking the stock wheels i would only get 7-8k out of the rears. of course i have this tendency to run things with 200 treadwear, but i still think 4k is rough as hell. its not like they wear unevenly either, as they are smooth all the way across. by the way, the tires are hankook ventus rs2 z212. they rule dry pavement like i rule your mom.

LOL, what does the motor have to do with the tires? Are you rotating them front to back? Do you have the car lowered without an alignment? Try a 300+ treadwear rating and see what happens.

well, i would have asked in the 240 general section but that place sucks. i dont know, i just figured more power = less tire life. 300+ treadwear tires just suck. ive been spoiled by the stickiest of the icky tire wise (azenis sports, then non-dot approved bridgestones, and now the hankooks) so it just doesnt cut it for me. seriously though, 4k miles?! i would get more mileage out of hoosier slicks! and they are staggered, directional so i cant even change sides. i mean, does anyone else experience such horrifically low tire life? i mean im kinda hard on them but damn! my friend has them on his wrx (235/40/17) and he got them before me, took them to 3 autocrosses and has put 5k on them and they look new!

I've got old, crappy, arse suspension and I get good tire life. I've been running Bridgestone Potenza G009's and they've got a good life on them. Pretty sticky as well.

They don't. Driving the 180 in the rain requires focus

I have bought several sets of Hankooks and they have not lasted long for me. That may be your problem.

Azenis RT-215s lasted about 2 summers. Next week, I am putting my 75% fine front 215s on the rear, and installing some 615s...and Megan toe links, and ProjectSilvia RUCAs

ballin. yeah, i dont think im going to go hankook again, but i could as they are cheap as dirt. ill probably go for the rt615s as they seem to last about twice as long, and i still maintain they were the best tires i have owned.

ive been on some used tires for dailydriving with a welded diff for a couple thousand miles and they are still going. if you get something that is supposed to last and not really soft/high performance they will last.

alignment FTW?

there were a few articles in the ricey mags latly (last 6 months) on how to do an alignment in your garage with under $100 of new tools

and nonsticky tires will increase longevity
