To whom did you speak there? They've all been more than courteous to me, always.

So, are we to assume you did not get the senors, or did you not choose to employ them? Either way, quite a few posts will tell you to short them, but how you do it will determine if they will be available in the future.

you can still bypass the snesors and rehook them up if you decide to get new ones... I say short the sensors...

What brake pads did you use? Was there a sensor or not? If there's no sensor with the pads used, you only have 3 optoins - 1) live with the message, 2) short the wires to make the message go away or 3) go to Autozone and by the super cheap Albany brand brakes and use the sensor that comes with them, and throw the pads away.

You know, I did not get the service writer's name - he was too 'busy' with whatever he was doing behind his desk in the office while I stood there in the service drive looking like an idiot, waiting for him to finally come out and attempt to upsell me on what I did not ask for. The man acted as if he was not that familiar w/ the G50s to begin with. When I sensed this, coupled with his 'couldn't care less' att., I put his bus. card back into his hand and kindly left the place. [Needless, never got my question answered]

When I installed the brakes, the sensors were also replaced on the frt & rear. You are saying that this is pretty much gimmickery and there is no way to clear the message code from the screen other than to 'cripple' the way the system was designed?

Pad wear sensors. Completely worthless and ineffective feature. Splice and tie the wire:http://www.q45.org/g50padsworn.html

I've also heard things about the crappy service people at Scottsdale. Their parts department, however, is quite good.

I've never had a problem with mine! They work perfectly... no message until the pads are worn down to about 3000 miles worth left. I typically short the old sensor - order new pads - and install them within a week or two. Never had metal to metal contact except after I defeated the sensor and then waited too long before replacing.

The system works as designed and beats the heck out of "squealers" on lesser cars when you use the right parts.

Now to answer the original question... did you replace both front and rear pads with OEM (or something with sensors)? Both have to be good before the warning goes off.

Just noticed that you said you replaced both front and rear pads with sensors. I would check the sensors with an ohm meter. The two pins in the connector should be shorted if the sensor is good. Then check your connections... After that it's time to trace the wires back toward the cluster to check for cut wires.

Hopefully someone else didn't try to defeat the system without knowing what they were doing...

As a last resort... check the thread entitled "Worn Brake pad light but 1996 Q45'S doesnt have a brake sensor wire" in Infiniti Online Mechanic to see how to fool the cluster.

Good luck!

Mine (dealer installed OEM) never came on, and I was already grinding on the rotor. They did finally come on when I cut them.

The sensors are only on the passenger side of my cars. If the driver's side wears faster, the sensor is useless.
