I have a redtop. The guy told me it has 550cc injectors in it still trying to confirm. I was wondering if running excessively rich would cause this?? The oil that came out smelled like gas but I found the plugs were gapped way off, iwas thinking in conjuction with the bad gap and big injectors this could be it.. Fixed the plugs, filled with oil ran it around the block cool down and checked and a faint smell of gas on the dipstick. I know that turbo cars supposedly have a tendensy to smell a little gas at oil change. It does have an SAFC and I have toned the injectors down slightly at idle. I got the car dirt cheap now Im trying to fix the problem areas. The car runs great, running 1bar. Does have a boost gauge (that never reads vacuum), no egt or wideband. Unknown in ecu is tuned at all. Any ideas

I suggest you definitely find out if your tuned for 550CC injectors on the ECU, or if its properly setup on the SAFC. I suggest changing your oil as well, gas in the oil isn't good, it can lead to rod bearing failure iirc. Sounds like a leaky injector issue. Try testing to see if its leaking. Pull the fuel rail off, turn the key, but don't start the car! and check if it leaks. Try replacing the o-rings as well. Recheck the spark plug gapping.
