bought the car for 450 had blown head gasket changed it flushed old oil out, has good oil still got smoke out the exhaust. Need to know how to find out if its rings or valves with engine still in. Or could the smoke be caused by the big hose coming out of the top of the intake right by the eccs writing on the intake. the hose went down under the intake behind or beside the alternator.it will idle then smoke for a while and stop but if you rev it up "look out" shes a smoker. Its a 2.4l ka24e

what color is the smoke?

if its white, it is probobly coolant, although sometimes if its rich it can make white smoke

blue, thats oil, that would be your rings or valve stem seals

black, thats if your rich
