Demo available on PC, PSN, and XBL. Get it. It rocks.

It's a GTA/Red Faction Guerrilla style free-roaming game. You're trying to undermine an oppressive government on a tropical island nation. You achieve this, much like RFG, by destroying government assets (radio towers, water towers, military installations, etc.).

But the real fun comes from the game's stunts. You have a parachute, and a grappling hook. The parachute repacks itself. You can ride a motorcycle at 100mph and deploy your chute, launching into the air. You can grapple to a moving car and then shoot the occupants, or just toss them out and steal it. You can grapple to an attacking helicopter and hijack it. You can even use the grappling hook to attach things to helicopters (like cars). And you can grapple people, which NEVER gets old. The possibilities of the game are endless. It has a story and TONS of missions, and the map is quite huge, but the real appeal will be screwing around with the grappling hook and parachute and whatever you can find in the world.

I saw some videos on it, it didn't look all that great, so I didn't bother dl'ing the demo. It just didn't appeal to me.

I enjoy these types of open-world games that effectively give you a big world to do whatever the hell you want in. The main story/missions of the game might not be great, but they're not what I'm interested in. I'm interested in doing what I can with what the game gives me. Like GTA. Most of the fun I have in GTA games is NOT doing missions, but seeing what I can do with the freedom the games provide. In fact, the most entertaining things I've done in GTA happened because I BROKE the game (either intentionally or unintentionally). The potential for that kind of exploration (not just of the in-game world, but of the capabilities of the game itself) is what interests me in these types of games.

Yeah, the PC demo is available through Steam.

And you'll want to turn off V-sync...it runs like crap with it enabled.

I sorta like the map from the first one more... this new one seems smaller

According to the developers, the map is the same size in area. The demo map is a very tiny portion of one of the smaller islands from the game world.
