225/50WR17 94W SL 280 AA A 1477 lbs. Max Load 51 psi Max Pressure 10/32nds Tread Depth 6-8" Recommended Rim Width 9.2" Tread Width 25.9" Tire diameter

Coming off the factory provided Bridgestone Potenza RE92's (2 sets - first set from dealership, and the second set from a take-off set of 2002 I30t wheels I got off of eBay)

Here is what Tire Rack has to say:

The ECSTA KH11 is Kumho's Grand Touring Summer tire designed for the drivers of sports coupes and sporty sedans. It was developed to provide a unique blend of ride comfort, noise qualities and responsive handling while providing very good traction on wet and dry roads.

On the outside, the ECSTA KH11 features a racing-inspired, silica-enhanced tread compound molded into an asymmetric tread design. Large outer tread blocks and a continuous center rib help provide stable cornering, responsive steering and high speed stability. Three wide circumferential tread grooves and multiple lateral tread grooves evacuate water from under the tire's footprint to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Internally, the ECSTA KH11 features twin steel belts reinforced by spiral-wrapped nylon cord to stabilize the tread area, enhancing treadwear, handling and high-speed capability while maximizing ride uniformity. The ECSTA KH11 is refined through the use of Kumho's ESCOT Technology that optimizes the tire's shape, internal tension and footprint contact pressure.

The Kumho ECSTA KH11 tire's sidewall styling features black letters reversed out of a circumferential serrated band. They are V- or W-speed rated depending upon size, and available in 65-, 60-, 55-, 50-, 45- and 40-series sizes for 15" to 18" wheel diameters.

I will give my thoughts and review, soon.

Put 40 psi cold to start a 51 psi tire. How did they balance, took almost 60 grams total [each]on mine [225/60/15 rear use only]...........I'm up to 1400 miles now [rebalanced at 600 miles] ........trying to wait till 2,000 for rotation and rebalance.

Swapped out Pilot H4 with 25,000 miles yet to find a psi that will stiffen the sidewalls to equal even the H4. But your 50 series should be better. 112.5 vs 135 loaded sidewall ~~20%.

Check out how the Nylon takes a set even in Summer heat.

I haven't checked the pressure in them. The tire place ususally puts 32 in them to start. It was raining, when I got it home.

I plan to take it out on the highway, and do some tire testing.

I heard a large clunk, when I got about 200 yards away from the tire store, so I think I threw a weight off the right front tire.

I will add up the weights, and let you know waht they added.

The wheels are the factory chrome ones, so I assume they will require a lot of weight, to balance, anyway.

I also have to verify the steering wheel is centered perfectly. My wife is a stickler about this. It seemed a little fof, when I drove it to the hospital - It was only 6 blocks.

I bought a full set of the KH-11 225/60/15 for my car... couldn't resist $235 shipped. I just want a decent set of tires to last a year since I'm too cheap to replace tension rods and upper links again -- the roads intown are getting worse all the time and just chew up my front end, why bother with perfection?

Still have a little tread on my Yoko AVS Int to chew up first. :)

How long do they take to smooth out? 10 mins?

Are the sidewalls more forgiving on bad roads?

They are a notch below Pilot H4 for sure.

Tires handle well. I dropped the pressure to 34 PSi, for a softer ride.

No more than a 1/4 OZ, to balance. Much better than the Sumitomo's on the Q45. One has 2 OZ of weight on one side, and 3/4 OZ about 40 degrees away! Those 255/45/17 are really heavy!

Had to re-align 3 times, to get it exactly right.

I am at 32,000 miles, on the Q, and I am in need of another set. Not sure whether I will go with the Sumitomo's again.
