Hi all!

Greate Forum you guys got!. I'm from sweden my self and my pistons in my old engine (CA18DET) melted and is close to nothing left down to the pistonrings :ylsuper

Anyway. I've just bought myself my very own black notchtop or what you guys in US call it. It came out of an S15 09-99 model and I will get the engine and gearbox and ECU and harness. All the good stuff. But not the LSD.. Will I have to find one or do I need to get that exact same one?

Also. Since you guys seems to change engine all the time I gues that someone of you also got this exact same engine running in your SR13 (200SX SR13, same body as your 240SX)?.

Do you guys perhaps know a good place on your site ready writen about this operation that I might have missed?.. I gues I am a bit unfamiliar to your site but I have searched it through and found several threads with useful info. but I need more... Information is power ;)

What are your own reflections in this mater?. Did it turn out well for you guys ?I got this engine "cheap" (about $3000+ but it is afterall a 99) and I was first looking at the Redtop but since I could get this one with a biger turbo and all at the same price I decided to go for it :)

Will this engine be a pure hell to install or?.. I've switched engine 3 times allready (CA18DET's). But I gues putting in this one might be harder... Alot?..

I just can't wait to get out on the road again!!! WEE:icesangel :ylsuper :help

You need to get the S15 helical or viscous differential. The speed sensor is located there. This is the only real hard part of the swap. If you do not care about how fast you are going nor having mileage then the swap will go faster. In the US there are a lot of ways to deal with this problem, you can get an S14 SR ECU and have it reprogrammed for 440cc injectors, then use the S14 gauge cluster, you can try to wire up an S14 speedsensor to give the right voltage and read right, you can try to bypass the ABS module since the speed wire runs through that before going to the ECU (this might save some extra wiring, and having to leave the ABS in the car if the S15 had ABS). If your steering is on the right side of the car like the Japanese, you can acquire the S15 dash and swap that into the car, since you already have to use the S15 cluster anyway.

Other things, you need a custom transmission mount for the 6 speed. You may have slight hood clearance issues, but that would be the least of my worries.
