just bought s15 sr20

and there is a really loud tick, i thought it was the valves but it is really loud. any advice on this, the car idles fine, doesnt blow out smoke, doesnt leak any oil, and no engine light on. thanks,

check oil pan a dent on the pan can starve the pump cause the pickup is mounted really low.... if not that that check the hydralic lifters....if they giot air in them theyll be super noisey.... take them out and if u can compress with ur fingers or they feel soft u have to submerge them in a container of oil and "prime" them with a paperclip or something small enough to push the little piston inside....do that till no more air bubbles come out and they should feel solid after.....

how loud is the tick? cause on my s13 sr my injectors ticked like a mug....put your hand on the injectors and see if they tick with the rhythm then its probably them

the tick goes away after the engine warms up and i drive for about 1/4 mile. I will check it out.

it could be noise from you vtc solenoid.... or it could be a valve.
