I just picked up a 99 QX4 with 180k miles. I needed a vehicle that was a bit more practical than my coupe.

I just gave it a tune up (plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter) replaced the distributor, replaced the shocks and struts (you'd never know, stupid sensa-tracs fricken blow), replaced the strut mounts, some suspension links, and tie rod ends. The freaking exhuast was rattling terribly so I ripped off the heat shields (what was left of them anyway, rust). Then I took it in to a shop and had them change the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, acc. drive belts and a pulley. It's also got a new set of Pirelli ATS tires mounted (255/70-16).

Is there anything you guys think I missed? I don't want to touch the trans given the age and unknown history...the fluid is a shade of pinkish brown, and doesn't smell bad.

So far, I really like this truck, but I find it hard to believe it was close to 40K in 1999. Feels like a $28k truck, which is great since I've only got 1/3 that amount invested in it.

Oops, forgot to rotate the QX first...

The Benz is in the shop, was hit by a DUI driver with no insurance...piss me off.

The G is my baby though.

I'll get a better picture of the QX4 once it is daytime, and I clean it up...was just in a few inches of snow yesterday and the salt is everywhere.

LOL nice, even if the QX is sideways haha. But very nice, all cars. And sorry to hear about the Benz...we (bf and i) were hit in Dec by a lady overdosed on prescription drugs. But again, very nice all around

Yeah, but fueler bought the $2,500 undercoating. You know how winters can get in Glendale, CA.

But seriously folks, welcome aboard prozac!
