I just purchased a used gen II zex kit for fairly cheap and was going to run 75 shot into the intake before the intercooler. I have a ca18det that I will be building up but as of right now, there isnt too much done to it. I was wondering if I could run this without having any problems with my rings or pistons.

Don't put it so far away from the engine. You want the nozzle as close as possible. It's generally recommended to have it about 2" away from the throttle body. This is a wet kit right?

I though it was 3" but I think forced induction changes it... but defintely closer to the throttle body. 75 is a steep shot on top of boost also, the cylinder pressures are much higher in a turbocharged car...

Well I don't think an inch makes too much difference, but it may be 3". I just know it was in that area that it was supposed to be in. I Plan on running nitrous too later on. I've got to get mine running with the turbo first though...

I don't know, I've had bad experiences with nitrous, 3 of my friends ended up causing engine damage with it on NA cars. I've read bad things about how nitrous + boost is kinda like drinking and smoking weed in the way in multiplies the cylinder pressures... in a higher mileage stock CA it might be a short time before the weak link (like ring lands or head gasket) gets tested....

Since I already purchased the kit what would you recommend I do? Im in the midst of replacing all the gaskets so the det can handle the boost.

gaskets don't make a motor "handle" boost... when you crack a piston, or break a ring land your new gaskets aren't going to do a damn thing

Just sell the kit... turbo + nitrous on a stock motor doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Dry kit ehh? Hmm if you are going to sell it, post a picture of all the stuff. I just got an idea! Oh, important thing, what size bottle do you have? Anything bigger than 5lbs wont work on my bike.

oh ****.. this is a good idea. lol. where are you going to mount a 5lb bottle? a guy here in houston has a 2.5 lb one on his hayabusa...

anyway I'm not saying sell it and give up the idea, but I'd think of at least toning it down to a 25 or a 50 shot... with race fuel you'd prolly be safe but one bad tank of gas and its over... your engine is already running 93 octane...

its really up to you, you could run a 75 shot all day and be fine or you could do it once and have problems... I'm just saying that the experience of the people that I know personally that have used it is not the best, so its apparently something that should be approached with caution.

NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER use a dry kit on a forced induction car! Under no circumstance. Ever. Never ever. If that isn't clear enough, I can write it on a 2x4 backwards and smack you in the forehead with it so that when you look in the mirror you can read it. DON'T USE A DRY KIT ON A FORCED INDUCTION VEHICLE. YOU WILL LEAN IT OUT AND BLOW IT UP!!![/rant]

Please don't piss off this moderator. I mean he's already a prick and he's giving you info that will save you a headache. So don't back-talk him; as a matter of fact, don't talk to him at all

nitrous needs exact amount of fuel with it!extremly important !!it also needs to be run on an engine with forged pistonsif you run this on a non forged piston turbo engine and its a dry kit you will have nice melted bits of metal

asking for trouble

LOL, I am the new Vin Diesel in fast & furious III, I got NOS stickers every where, which every one knows the stickers alone on my Honda will give me an extra 75HP lol

Here is Tim R34 dude? I haven't seen him on here for a while.

If you write it backwards it will transfer as a mirrored copy putting it frontwards on your forehead. When you look in the mirror you will then see it backwards. So you must write it frontwards on the board so that it will be backwards on your head so you can see it front...[austin_powers]Oh I've just gone cross eyed.[/austin_powers]
