I would think the same thing - the larger tires more than likely have a slighly higher rolling resistance than the smaller ones (though this is also subjective to the tread design and such as well...)smockers83 wrote:Here's something to ponder, at least I think it is.
Since you're running a wider tire Joe, do you think you got better mileage out of your Toyo's due to the larger surface area of the contact patch or because of better materials?
I can pretty much answer this for Joe and say yes. He also would have changed his sig pic.azynsouljah wrote:hey joe603, were you still able to use your stock rims on the new tires you purchased?
LOL! That's my garage vacuum...The wife wanted a Dyson for the house. Yes, it is a piece of crap...but it still works!atn_chargers wrote:Not to fall off the subject...but I have the same vacuum as joe. It's it a piece of crap and weighs a ton....Try cleaning your stairs with one of those!
Yup, if you look on Tirerack.com, the sizes I have are "optional" sizes.azynsouljah wrote:hey joe603, were you still able to use your stock rims on the new tires you purchased?

You're doing it wrong...the wife should be cleaning the stairs.
I think we have that one too, but in red...Kohl's with discount was very reasonable. Rated really high by CR.atn_chargers wrote:Not to fall off the subject...but I have the same vacuum as joe. It's it a piece of crap and weighs a ton....Try cleaning your stairs with one of those!

I know you have a coupe but shouldn't you get more than 20kmiles out of a set of tires?joe603 wrote:Well after 20k miles, my Toyo Proxie T1R's have turned into drag slicks...They have been a great tire, much better than the OEM Bridgestones which lasted only 13k. I was happy with the performance in dry and wet weather...but they were a bit noisy. I'm running a larger than OEM size:
245/35 -19 front275/35 -19 rear
After looking online, the Toyo's have gone up in price to $280 per tire on the rear size and $214 for the front ($1049 shipped for all 4). That was at Tiredeals4less.com. I know I paid $900ish when I initially purchased them...
Then, I looked on Tirerack.com for pricing on the Yokohama S. Drives. (SVT loves 'em!) They were actually cheaper ($195 front, $221 rear...$952 shipped) I had Discount Tire match the price of the Yoko's <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.nicoclub.com/forums/image ... aughty.gif" BORDER="0">
So, new sneakers will be installed in a few days...I'll let you know how they compare to the Toyo's.

I guess I baby my G compared to you guys.
I'll be anxiously waiting for your comparo. I'm trying to decide between Toyo and Yoko.
You don't drive like anybody else that owns a G on this forum...You drive like my grandpa...no higher than 65 mph.telcoman wrote:
