Just bought my first SR, thought i would introduce myself...

whats up guys, i just picked up a local lightly modded red top that is going into my 95 zenki. I really think i scored on this deal...ill provide picks as soon as i pick up the motor, which should be sunday.

Im planning a pretty mild build, ive been in and around the KA and KA-T section for a while now, and ive been lurking in the SR section for a while too trying to absorb as much info as possible.

The motor is in good shape overall, but im gonna tear it down for a stock rebuild just to be sure...

It already comes with:-an s14 T28 of questionable origin (I know who originaly owned it, and lets just say he might have abused it a bit---18PSI!!!!---)

-peak boost, greddy knock off intake manifold....should look yummy powdercoated and with the ghey swivle vacuum conectors replaced

-stainless steel turbo oil and coolant lines, ....from enjuku?

-brand new exeddy stage 2 clutch

-SR Koyo with new silicone hoses

-apexi GT turbo manifold...? thats what hes claiming it is, i still cant seem to find any info about this particular mani. Its definately tubular in nature

-complete wiring harness and transmission, i do need to get an ECU tho...

Im thinking of staying close to the high 200s, thinking s15 T28, but things could change. With that said Ill of course need all the supporting mods

That turbo can handle 18psi, now if you said 28 I would question you, sounds like a decent deal? mind I ask what you picked up the motorset for?

Im getting the whole motorset, minus the ECU and FMIC thats on the car for $1200....plus im giving him one of the extra KAs i have lying around, I think im making out pretty well.

I know that the T28 can push 18, but isnt that getting close tho the hairy edge for its efficiency and longevity. plus i know for a fact that the previous owner (not the one im buying the motor from) BEAT the everloving hell outta that thing...i just dont trust it

Im prolly gonna shoot for 15-16 PSI on the s15, that is if i actually go that route...

throw on a magnetic drain plug and beat that turbo to death, no sense in just buying another T2 series turbo when your already getting that one, I do care to say top mounted GT30R ftw.

yeah, but if im already pulling the internals for new rings, gaskets, and bearings, why take a chance with a turbo on its way out? at the very least ill have the thing rebuilt..................and then flog it to death!!!

you cant rebuild ball bearing turbo's just sell it to me for 250$.

the car has an s14 T28,....I was under the impression that only the s15 T28s had BB center sections?

Thats kinda why i want the s15 one...

Im pretty shure the S14 T28's have BB too, Ive been known to be wrong before though.

really?! wow, definately learned something new today...so are there any real differences between the s14/s15 T28? I mean besides the inconel turbine wheel....

nope. there really isn't any point in getting an s15 t28 if you already have an s14 t28. when you upgrade your turbo, go with a gt2871r.
